Yes!! 3 for 3ā€¦ Iā€™ve been drying lots moreā€¦ and now have a photo blue cookies puking pollen like an autoā€¦ and an uncle fester Skunk 18 photo joined them and he will br collected tooā€¦

Now I KNOW this place changes ya. Iā€™m excited about pollen and even taking efforts to save and preserve some. Lol

Good luck to the pollen recipientsā€¦ pops (mom?) was a fast grower and had nice height for an auto so hope (s)he adds to your gene pools!!

Like I need another projectā€¦ I went and picked up two packs of these:

Not sure where they will be going yet, but following a few threads with them, and @GramTorinoā€™s thread pushed me over the edge to try em out. They arrive monday.

I did have good luck in the past with wick style systems, so this intrigues me. I may do some experimenting here, and for $15 for a pack of two with free shipping, how could I not buy two packs?

Whoa, those are cool, Iā€™ve seen a lot about the earth box wicking style systems, but thatā€™s a new one, will that work with any planter type? Iā€™m thinking fabric pots specifically

Thats what @GramTorino did, he basically made mini octopods as he calls em. Heā€™s used fabric pots, with a netpot cut into the bottom. His journal has tons of details on his setup of them.

Canā€™t take credit for the idea at all, saw it on OG first

Your going to love to watch the plant grow crazy lol :joy:

Try the big boy Octopots there fun

Iā€™d like to, but fundageā€¦ lolā€¦

And. Since my mind is always going. Hereā€™s a version that can be made MUCH larger (basin is 48x48), with say a 25 or 30g fabric pot. mwuhahahaha Surprisingly I donā€™t have one of these here, and I should, considering I installed dozens of em and you always end up with something. Not cheap at all (basin is like $400+), but its actually a fountain basin you would install in the ground.

Would these technically be considered SIPs? (Sub-Irrigated Planter) or are these wicking style pots a different thing altogether?

Itā€™s 8:30 on a saturday morning and yer giving me research already? ROFLā€¦

From the amazon listing, I would guess more wicking style like an octopot, SIP appears to put more medium in contact with the water, where this seems to have a definite air space between water and planter and minimal wicking material.

To fit this UFS#18 male in the mancave I had to chop off his stretch. For shits and giggles I tossed it in the bubble cloner. No prep, just shoved the stalk in the same hole the Airlines go inā€¦that was 4 days agoā€¦ Canā€™t believe this cut isnā€™t even wilting yetā€¦

The rest of the bubble cloner is doing OK as wellā€¦

And adding to the gene poolā€¦ Blue Cookies pollen, flowered like an auto, wonā€™t call it auto pollen yet thoughā€¦

Soā€¦ I think my herb storage game just went up. You ever see that Bong Apetite on Vice? Their cannabis pantry always blew my mind.

One of my side hustles here is flipping return pallets. Sometimes get cool stuff, sometimes get shit, all in all making some money (and making tons of clutter here too). Went to the pallet place yesterday (they had posted photos of new pallets and there was a good 3D printer on one, ended up being sold but thats why I went).

Soā€¦ Still grabbed a pallet, and several pallets had these on them. Figured I could make enough on the rest of the goods on the pallet to cover the cost and put scratch in pocket, and think Iā€™m gonna be keeping this:

Thats a 300 cigar humidor Already got a TON of ideas floating in my head, and questions as wellā€¦ Perfect for storing cannabis, can control temp down to mid 50ā€™s, and humidity is controlled the old fashioned way by seasoning the cedar and using a water container.

I did a little googling on humidors for cannabis, and surprisingly found a fair amount of posts / pages. I AM surprised the cedar stays in most cases (I know it helps with moisture and humidity, but I figure it would impart a taste, cedar / cedar oils are strong!). I have a 3D printer with a print bed large enough to print new shelves (YAY!) so I was thinking of designing compartments and shelves, and tossing a few Boveda packs in (they say 6 sized 67 will be good for 300 cigars, so thats my baseline) and removing the cedar shelvesā€¦ Any thoughts on leaving or removal of the shelves?

Its really snazzy in my grow area, compared to everything else down there its like a Ferrari parked in a garage of Yugos. ROFLā€¦

lol, thats just the blue cookies pileā€¦ the black cream pile is 20x that easy! AND its been drying a week now and looking good. Think Iā€™m getting the process down. pollen is a tad more delicate than seeds, but just as valuable, especially on a site like OG. Iā€™m gonna enjoy seeing what that auto black cream pollen does for folks with autosā€¦

OH yeah lol

Dude what a find! If you can control
Humidity and temp could you dry in one of those too?

I was wondering that, but its a humidor, not a dehumidor  Since humidity is controlled via a container of water / absorbtion in the cedar usually, I think drying might be difficult without something removing the humidity. I have seen some mini dehumidifiers that would fit if the shelves were taken out (think dorm fridge size). but then you have a cord running in somewhere. But yes, I AM wondering the same thing, and at the very worst, hang dry and use the humidor for the cure after trim. Between my auto burping jars, and this badboy, I think my curing process just levelled up  hehehe

aaaahh, so it just monitors humidity in there it doesnā€™t actually adjust the levels through a built in humidifier/dehumidifier then? regardless it does seem like itd be rad for curing or just storing. maybe black out the window to eliminate UV degradation?
