Do you know or have experience growing cannabis with these natural pest plants…say if i commingle marigolds within a patch of cannabis will the marigolds repel bugs from the whole patch and therefore the cannabis too or actually repel bugs from the marigolds only and therefore repel from the marigolds to the cannabis plants making the cannabis more attractive if that makes sense

Would be better if extracts are used from plants and applied in a foliar spray.Make the plant seem unappealing.Planting sweet things like red Kale will make bugs go to the kale more likely than the Cannabis

Actually trying it right now. Have marigolds in both planters.

Marigolds attract spider mites. Consider them a ‘trap plant’ not a repellent.

Got me reading now. full sun planted marigolds can attract spider mites, and also beneficial predatory mites lol! So what does that like cancel each other out.

I haven’t played with companion planting enough to have hard facts but I think it would be more beneficial to use plants that attract predator insects more than those that repel pest species. Limonene is a natural insecticide so planting varieties high in limonene could be a potential pest deterrent itself. In the garden, I have found a plethora of ladybug larvae on wormwood and a ton of hoverflies around alyssum. Both of those larvae can be voracious aphid predators.

We used to use a flea powder that was made out of Dried marigolds we used on our Coon Hunting Dogs when i was a kid.The Fleas hated the stuff. We used that and my Mother planted marigolds all over the whole yard.Never so much as saw one Flea or Tick with that lemon grass that was next to the Marigolds.
