So these ladies just got uppoted and we’re a bit root bound. What do you all think is missing? New dirt, pH 6.4 havent fert yet. Thanks
I’d say magnisuim and good watering practices my dude. Likely just some shock too. ![]()
And maybe some N if them tips ain’t turned down. Cant tell in the pic.
How long ago was she given the new shoes?
Definitely need some nitrogen. I’d lower the lights a bit also. I think I see some bleaching on the leaves.
If that’s new dirt I’d say your soil is too hot and throwing your plants off balance.
Custom mix? What are we talking here we need more infoooooo.
They got uppoted 2 days ago. They looked like that before I uppoted. They have stretched with new shoes but leaves look unhealthy. I used happy frog soil. They are 24" from light. I did make the soil a bit to damp with first watering. I was hoping the new soil would have enough N to green up but hasn’t been that long. I was thinking a bit of Epsom salt as well.
Once dried back do you all think I should try a 1/4 strength nute with Epsom salt?
I think they need full strength fertilizer. I would use a broad spectrum micro nutrient not just epsom salt. they also look like they need Iron.
I know it sucks to buy ferts but dem ladies are begging.
I’d do full strength as well after a dry back and kelp.
Cool thanks! I’ve becom gun shy about hitting small plants with nutes after frying a whole bunch lol. I have a good full spectrum fert that has good micro nutes including cal and mag and iron. Also has kelp and I have kelp to add as well.
So expecting the soil to have enough nutes in it to give a jump. It must work slower than being watered with nutes.
What kinda nutes are you using? Or you using super soil?
Feed them.
Foliar feed them an all purpose fert and some kelp for a quick comeback.
That’s the ticket!
Best of luck!
Thanks that’s the way to go I think. They still a bit to overwatered. Foliar feed.
I have Alaskan fish fert it’s organic would that be safe foliar spray? Add a little kelp. The watering directions say 1tbsp to 1 gal would I use the same dilution rate for foliar spray? @Pigeonman I know you use the veg Alaskan fish fert what dilution rate would you use for foliar and is it safe?
Hey bud, I’ve never used it as a foliar personally. With all the wildlife I have running around the last thing I want is to make my plants even more attractive to Raccoons.

Add to that, I’m allergic to fish so spraying it around is very much something that would freak me out. Handling it all in a solution and applying to roots I have no worries.
I usually use it at a rate of 2tbs per gallon with my outdoors for soil.
For foliar applications I read somewhere that they applied fish emulsion at a ratio of 10:1 with water and sprayed either early morning or late evening avoiding daytime sun.
In my opinion. you gave too much water previously and the pH was off. I would rinse with demiralized water. and I would start with vitamins for example vitamin C. and then with fertilizer little by little. sometimes transplanting again with good soil helps.
used to use happy frog we cant get it up here now for some reason most of the time it is really hot right out of the bag you said ph of 6.4 was that water going in or run off i found that happy frog had a low ph a lot of the time if you had some extra i would run a half gallon or so thru a pot just to see i bet it is in the 5’s ph range
Yes I did wet the soil a few days before transplanting and didn’t let it dry enough. They were looking like that before transplant. The water I used was 6.5 and the runoff was 6.4. The soil is brand new out of the bag fox farms happy frog. I have 4 landrace sativas in the same soil and just transplanted and are fine so the soil isn’t too hot for sensitive plants that don’t usually like a lot of nutes.
@thainer thanks I had issues with ffof so I do a pH runoff test before I use the soil to make sure not hot. I used distilled water for the test. Started 7.0 and when came through soil 6.4.
i learned the hard way as well
What is the composition of the rootball? Was it loose and conforming or was it jam packed in the container? This happens to me when i procrastinate a repot and i let it ride and my rootballs get stupid thick. The plant will be tricky to feed and extremely sensitive for at least a week till it grows into its new pair of shoes i second on the dim the light a touch until she pops back. This is the reason why i always have some cooked soil on hand when it comes to repots. If they get root bound they will strangle themselves off of feed until them roots get into some food and get right again more root mass to food mass is no bueno .Ehen they get rootbound they will take forever to get soaked and they will drink like fiends
Yep feed them some good salt based nutes for a quick comeback, like GH or Dyna Gro.
