that aside add 2 more chips to make it easy as other wise that center row will be forced to run at a higher voltage as the other chains will be running what they need and that will either cause that center string to run harder or even burn out.

I agree he should add the additional two for even light distribution, but if he uses a constant current sourcing power supply, it will detect the lower current draw if he loses a string and automatically lower the current.
