Need your thoughts on these things..

Found these things on a low branch close to the mainstem.

Some good-to-know-stuff:

  1. Only place on of entire plant that has this. Edit: Spoke too soon. :pinching_hand:t2:

  2. The branch has been squished inbetween the mainstem and another branch (due to poor lst management on my part) and was very constricted in how thick it could grow / supply nutrients.

  3. I messed up (only on this plant) three weeks earlier with a very harsh insecticide, causing a lot of burns and twisted leaves.

  4. The plant is very healthy as of right now.

Question, should I cut her down or slice this branch and keep an eye out?

Could you just pinch off the male flowers? Or would more grow back in that location?

I gotta say i would probably get rid of it .

@Igor I have no idea, seems risky.

@matos420 That’s the spirit!

After seeing the extra pics you just posted I’d say probably best to chop it. You’ve only got to miss one small cluster, or some grow back and she’ll spaff her balls all over herself (it happens) and you’ll have seeds everywhere.

The extra weight you would gain from keeping that plant is not worth the potential risk of a whole seeded crop. Speaking from expirience, you can keep a close eye on the plant and periodically pick off the balls but there are always a couple of flowers that nestle in deep and escape your attention, especially in later flower.

I hate when this happens because you are far enough into the hard work that getting burned will hurt.

I’d be looking at it as a question of degree. I’ve dealt with similar and have had success with just picking them off and also failure with just picking them off.

I have set my timer for 5 minutes every 3 days or so just to do a complete inspection.

It might be ok. You might be screwed.

Wish I could be more helpful.

I’m a fan of “castrate the bitch and keep a keen eye”. Like daily deepdive inspections.

I also go by the three strikes rule.
First I castrate, second time I’ll do the same.
(Cuz it could have been user error, lol)
The third time, it’s a full stop. I’ll cull.

But I grow alot of autos. And as they say, Ruderalis will be Ruderalis. I also only grow for myself, friends, and family. So a seed in my bud thats getting twisted into doobies anyway, is no skin off my back.

Though there is one exception:
If I’m doing any kind of seed project.
My autos get zero strikes then.
I cull at the first sign of weirdness.
But hell, it’s always a nearby tent repro that pollinates my autoflower forest anyways!

Agreed. A few balls is no big deal if it’s just for smoke but for breeding it’s a deal breaker for me.

You could always plant it somewhere outdoors and just let nature take its course. That way it’s not going to contaminate the rest of your garden with Hermie pollen, and it still gets to live to a ripe old plant age :older_man::man_mage:.

It has potential to seed peoples plants outside. I would isolate it if i were really desperate for smoke and had the space or scrap it.

Happens to me occasionally, some genetics are prone to it.

Goats are cool, i occasionally run into a vet with a farm at work that has em. Damn well tempted to ask him for a baby when i see him. Really nice guy, offered me to use his shop if needed. Sadly never kept in touch with him since i would see him occasionally and havn’t in awhile.
