Hey yo
I will try to keep a decent Journal here to share what happens during the next months
I have two grow tents, I put them together a while ago but I haven’t been able to use both at the same time, so recently I decided to give it a go, popped a few brick weed seeds (regular, no genetics) to get things going.
My tents are 60x60x140 and 80x80x160, each one has 5 plants inside. I just put them in new pots and I will put them on a 12/12 schedule to see if I have some female ones, I plan to keep them on the smaller tent and the right one I will have a plant with better genetics, as I have bought a few seeds from pyramid seeds, they should arrive here by next week I guess.
I believe the power is something like 250W to the left and 320W to the right, but I am not really sure, it’s been a while since I worked with it. I’ve had great success with the bigger one, but I have never run a plant on the smaller one, so I plan to debut it and share what happens with you guys.
I’m giving them some advanced nutrients that I’ve had for a while, I’m glad to know that they are still good, even though they are pretty old.
I guess the picture is not so good, but I guess it’s better than nothing to start with
i really dig the idea of brick seed germination. any history on that brick weed seed? How old is it, where’s it from, how did u acquire it? Did u try the flower off of it? I’ll bet that shit if it’s the brick weed i had in the 70s, will be fire. Keep posting, i’m following.
Hey, man, let me answer you:
I bought it from a dealer, it comes from Paraguay, I don’t know if I could call it a landrace, but it is one of those plants that has been there for a long time, I guess.
I have no Idea of how old it is, but the brick was not really new, although the seeds looked good. I tried the flowers, but they were mixed with a lot of leaves, so not really a good smoke.
I would say it’s a much inferior version of what you had, lol.
I switched the light to 12/12 yesterday, my plan is, in case I have some females, keep them in one of the tents, so in the other one I can keep one of the seeds I’ve purchased.
I decided not to train them, I am just gonna work on fitting them in case I have some flowering, I am just gonna trim them a little this week. They all kinda look the same so far.
Hey man, pulling a chair to follow this one. They are looking good. The brick seeds are always a gamble. I hope you find some fire in this run. Good luck!
Welcome, BRos, I’ll be glad to share the progress with ya’ll.
I just hope for them to show sex soon so I can arrange them in the tent to save space. For now, I am arranging the cables around to have a cleaner look inside, and avoid accidents.
Both of my exahaust fans were just hanging from the top, so I bought some ducts, they should be here by the end of the month. I believe it will be louder, bu safer, and make it easier for me to work inside.
I cut the light fixture and cables from the pictures because they were a complete mess.
So they are starting to show up, so far 2 of them.
Bad news of the days goes to the undesired activity on the leaves, I am going to apply some neem while they are not flowering.
Well, my Neem Oil is over, so soap and water it is.
One of the plants had been half-eaten, I forgot to take a picture, but I’m posting now so I register everything. I had never seen sth like this before, lol, I guess it was some kind of caterpillar. The plant is doing fine now, but one of the branches developed way more than the other.
I thought I would have no problems regarding height this time because I was flipping them “early”, and now I found myself bending them, I gotta do something abought the lights now.
Man they seem like a classic paraguayan sativa, they can have some longer flowering periods of up to 16 weeks. I hope it stays under 12 weeks which are the standard for prenseeds in my experience.
Too bad about the seeds tho, did you try using any technique like H2O2, sanding or something like that? Send me a PM if you need some beans. I can hook you up with something.
I’d like them to be under 12 too, but it looks like it will take a while longer, I’m hoping to see some improvement this week. The ones that didn’t work were supposed to be done in 45 days of flowering.
I actually just tossed the beans into the water. The first two ones, I moved to the ground, the other ones, some paper towel, nothing happened. At the same time, I put some prenseeds into the same kind of water and a few have already sprouted, I guess “imported” seeds need to be under specific conditions or they die, lol, I guess I am going to do it next time I put my hand on some. It’s sad though, cost me some money I would rather keep.
The offer is much appreciated, but I’ve purchased a few ones from a member of the forum, I’m going to wait a little to see if they land, otherwise, I’ll hit ya up.
Sometimes they take longer. Try using some H2O2, easy to find and cheap. Soak them for 12-24h and then paper towel. I am struggling myself with germination but these are the most common technique to deal with germination rates. Hope you get them to pop
