I’m basically trying to find a male outcross that I can back cross to her because Strays line are all fems but I’m also going to make F5s from the AK females. Not sure as of yet if it’s going to be an OP or not. I’m planning on removing all plants with intersex characteristics of course and might do a selection on the males if one just jumps out.
So, I was a little worried about germination after checking out @BarefootAndBlazed ‘s comment on the AKBeanbrains thread but I ended up with 9/11 seeds. It took some time and if I end up popping another pack I have in reserve, I’ll definitely scuff first. I did lose one trying to crack it and I’ve been delayed in initiating flower by another which limped through necessary helmet head surgery and grew without cotyledons.
That’s fantastic that you were able to get those seeds to pop!!! It’ll be great to see how they grow for you. My buddy kept Williams Wonder around for years. His plants stayed short, but yielded well.
Still not much to see. They’re coming along nicely. I removed two of the four males that showed. One was the damn helmet head and I didn’t really care for the flower set on another. Should have got pics but didn’t. As these are F4’s I don’t really think I’m giving up much in terms of genetic diversity. I may get rid of one more if my wife keeps complaining about pollen allergies but I’m trying to avoid that. Anyway, I hope everyone’s having a great week and it finishes the same!
The more these grow out, the more I can see how AKBeanbrains took this line in a very different direction from Strayfox. Stray’s plants grow taller, have much larger spacing between nodes and more defined and larger bract formation
These were all cloned at the same time and rooted in about the same time period. You can definitely pick out my keeper from Stray which is pretty close height-wise when compared to other phenos from his line. The one that is dying I think I’m just going to get rid of. Its mother is also the least happy of the seeded plants but I want to grow out the rest to test out the smoke. Someone told me they got grapey terps out of AK’s line and no offense to them but I’m really hoping that I don’t. So far the nose has just been classic whiffs of skunk and wood.
Day 45 of flower with everything limping towards the finish. Everyone definitely enjoyed their bukkake party and there should be plenty of seeds. They’re all giving off citrus and acetone scents with the exception of #6 (middle right) who smells a lot like my Stray keeper, skunky and woody. The back left (#4) has a much sweeter almost tangerine smell and #1 next to it weaker citrus and a nice underlying funk. I’ll be excited to get my clones into flower in a week or two so I can smoke test some of these!
I hope y’all have a great weekend!
So, everything came down this weekend at 10 weeks of flower. I probably could have gone another week or so but I’m in need of the space and most of these beans are well baked. Just a dry and cure and I’ll start getting some out in a few weeks! Hope you all have an amazing week!
Hey everybody! I hope you all are having a great spring week! I’m finally finished shucking these beans and I’m ready to start getting some of them out. Thank you all for being patient with me!
So I tried to make myself a wiki and I guess it worked! Feel free to add names below up to say 40 to start. TL 2 & 3. I’ll also take addys from the first twenty and please let me know if you prefer a particular mother! CLOSED. Please don’t add names.
