New grower outdoor

Hello this will be my first year growing outdoor’s im use to growing mainly for the past 3-4 years indoor in my 3x3 and 2x4 grow tent notting big but still enough to last me and my wife few months each harvest. I was wondering is there an requirements or tips that anyone has that I should know or just what i do indoors goes to outdoors other than the light from the sun will be one of the best lights i can ever use for growing.? My self my main and only question would be do i need to use the same amount of gaia green nutrients outdoors or what ever is in the ground should be more than enough and no added nutes is needed?

Just keep on doing what you were doing to the plants indoors when you grow outdoors. The amount of nutes the plants will need outside should be on par with what it would need indoors. But if your growing the plants outside directly in the ground keep in mind the nutes will be shared by the surrounding vegetation. The amount of nutes needed for outside in ground growing will depend on the condition of the soil the plant is growing in.

okay so I was going to place it in the spot where I see the other plants are thriving in that area and will be placing them directly in the ground and okay Ill forsure keep that in mind that other plants around will steal nutes that i top dressed compare to the plants that will be in the pots on my porch! thanks for all the help and any tips anyone gives!

I am not sure where your growing or the soil conditions you have. But keep in mind that just because other plants are doing well in that area does not mean your plants will like it.
For example I live in Florida were the grass is green and the plants look amazing outside. But the grass and plants are able to handle the sandy soil in the state. If I try to grow weed in Florida soil, I am just asking for trouble.

One thing I’ll say is that if you’re doing indoor and outdoor at the same time, be VERY careful of cross-contamination. Change clothes and wash your hands before you go from messing with your outdoor grow to tending your indoor grow.

Clay is not a good thing to be growing in. A little bit would be one thing but a lot is another.
I would suggest digging out a hole for the plant and replace the soil with better soil from the local garden store.

Couple things for you to consider.
What area are you growing in. I’m in the northeast and what I can grow is very different than the southwest. Genetics really come into play outside.

Clay soil may be loosened with peat, perlite, coco so not terrible. If it pools there I’d recommend a different location.

Need at least 6 hours of full sun. More is better for my area

As a horticulturist who comes from an area with clay soils, I can tell you that digging a hole in clay and replacing the clay with better soil is a recipe for root rot. The clay forms a bowl that will just hold water. The better move would be to add organic materiel (compost, leaf mold, etc) to the soil and build the soil up. It doesn’t have to be much. A raised bed 2-3 inches higher allows for better drainage. The answer to improving any soil type is always adding organic material. Clay soil can be great because it has a high cation exchange capacity but it also retains a lot of water leading to root rot.

All good choices but look around, you might find rice hulls more economical in your area.
