New indoor grow journal

Thanks for the support and help man. Hopefully will end up with some decent herb to appreciate, knowing what went into making it!

Hey @HaRdRoC or anyone, one of my plants is really starting to curl/ canoe down and claw only at the top bud sites, Iam thinking its do to being transplanted into a pre soaked soil but any ideas!? I mean the leaves are almost curled all the way around. Temps are 79°, Rh% is 50. It’s not on all the plant as pictured just seems like the two main topped colas and a few leaves here and there!? I removed extra lighting for a better pic!

Just looks over watered to me

Okay thanks what I was thinking as it went from a really dry half gallon pot to a pre-soaked 5 gallon pot.

So on the overwatered plant the leaves have gotten worse man and I havent watered since transplant, the soil is not soaked but still damp two knuckles deep. Although the buds are growing more every day, will the leaves recover? The other plant is looking great, although just female preflowers still, no bud formation yet. Any thoughts or ideas on the overwatered one?! Thanks

Not sure, looks over watered, not dark enough for N toxicity… just give it some LIFTA and all should be good bro.

Hey thanks man you were right, 10 hours later it’s already starting to bounce back! Not perfect and not even sure if all the leaves will recover, but its def a good sign as alot of leaves are flattening back out! Life lesson learned, let pots dry out before transplanting into! BudT

Most common mistakes growing, 1st overwatering.
2nd, feeding more than 1/2 strength of what the bottles of nutes say.
When watering, when you think u gotta water, wait another day, unless wilting.
Or get a moisture meter and let it get to 30% for normal soil or soiless mix. But never less than 40% for living soil, or it will kill microbes.
These are my beliefs…not proven facts…

No I think those are the standard guidelines for all growing, I’ve been doing just fine with the watering and the nutes, honestly I’ve not had to give them much at all. In this instance, I believe this was just a transplanting error. As I soaked the the new soil till saturation and then transplanted straight Into it, without any drying period. Although when dealing with a larger container size, I think a moisture meter could def come in handy! Thanks for the idea.

So things are starting to take off, one plant already has golf ball sized buds and the other just has a lot of female pistils coming out of every node. Its amazing how these two different strains are growing. Their stretching quite a bit and bushing out as well. Iam waiting another day and then adding the first batch of half strength flower nutes. Oh yeah I also have two more females that popped out preflowers and are about to get transplanted into 1 gallon containers. I might have to get another tent because If I let them veg until my first two are done, they’ll be monsters.

Another tent would be good, but you can slow them down AND get more tops, by topping. Then spread them out with some lst, to even out the canopy’s

Quick update, Day 12 of flower and both plants are starting to bud nicely. Watering ph to 5.8 plain water and feeding them every other time. Defoiliated some lower branches and removed some light blocking foilage as well. I also ordered a 2nd 2×2×4’ tent for my other two plants which have been topped twice and are awaiting transplant into 5 gallon pots. Thanks BudT

Anyone had any success using molasses to help fatten up buds and trich production!? Any other ideas?! Thanks
Two weeks flower…

Hey @HaRdRoC Iam interested in what your using for flowering to fatten bud/trich production? Such as ferts or additives? The plants have sweet little nuggets forming and seem to be growing daily but Iam just feeding them 6 tsp Foxfarm Organic Big Bloom-per gallon, every other watering. Iam just curious if there is something that you personally use that I could get, that might help with yield/ quality. Thanks

I use a water only organic super soil, so I don’t add any ferts, bud I do use an additive from Advanced Nutrients, called bud candy, that I use throughout my whole grow to feed the microbes in my soil. It is supposed to really turn up the Terps In flowering though. 1st time using the stuff though, so we will see.
1st time using any kind of additive besides cal/mag lol.
Before I got into organics, I just used Jack’s Classic Dynamic Duo and cal/mag with Sunshine Mix #4 and that’s it, and had nice, chunky healthy plants.

I’m a firm believer in the phrase “keep it simple, stupid” just don’t over water or feed, keep your ph in check, and you’re golden. The more variables you put into your plant, the more that can go wrong.

That’s the best advice I can give ya.

The soil that they are in has bone meal, alfalfa meal, earthworm castings, and guano. So Iam not adding any extreme ferts, just the big bloom which is also organic. I dont want to mess with them too much as things seem to be moving on up. I was merely curious about organic additives that could be used and/or aid the big bloom to increase overall yield and potency. Thanks for the advice

Hey thanks for the love @Zoey!

Nice looking start you got going. I also do perpetual…no set numbers in or out. You can boil up some bananas (I add mango skins and pit) and organic blackstrap molasses which would give you a nice vitamin kick for the buds and the molasses will feed any microbes breaking down nutes. I use FF soil and nutes but like to add this tea the watering before flipping and maybe 20oz a week up until water only.

Hey thanks for the love and information @Chainmaker! Iam using the same soil and nutes. I’ve never heard of the fruit compost before, interesting idea. I think molasses is the way to go as well. I’ve done alot of research and it seems like a properly done molasses wash can achieve nearly the same results as many/most OTC organic additives( At least the ones for achieving larger and more frothy bud/trich production that is). Not to mention the pre-made additives can be anywhere from 20$ to 75$ for a bottle.

So I decided to clean out the cage, which is good every once and a while for smaller tents. While I was at it, I thought I would snap a few pics of them out of there home. Also Iam starting a molasses feed next watering. BudT

EDIT: I dont know why but when I upload high quality pics OG reduces the quality of the pics unless you click them!!!
