Last year late in the season I planted a clone out on my porch. It turned out pretty nice, so I was determined to try and run some outdoors this year. I’m growing on a 2nd story balcony, so I’m limited. I like my tomatoes, peppers and cucumber, so I’ve gotta save a little space.
I was told they’re a little small (container), but I’ve got 3 Oreoz going in 10 Gallons. I sorta started em a little early, so I’m honestly not sure what issues I’ll encounter. I’m not trying to hide, but I’m also not trying to invite the hood rats, so I’m looking to keep em low profile. It’s just a long ways to go. The smaller one is Ace seeds Violeta (Purple Malawi x PCK). This wasn’t my plan, but I was gifted a couple clones, so I had to save one and trash one. The malawai is in a 15 gallon fabric. I really wanna let this one go without topping, but I have no idea how tall we’re looking at. Thanks!!
Cool stuff right there. You got’em tied down, thats perfect, but they are still vis from the street. If it were me, I’d plant a row of pots of beans, planted at 2 week intervals. This will create a screen, and invite beneficials to your space. Put some dill in the pots with the beans, and mabe some cilantro. When they flower, the predator flies, and other bennys will come to your aid;)
Yeah, I’ve got some tomatoes and peppers going in front of those…but, when I was a kid I remember taking green beans right off the plant and eating em. I was just thinking about them, so that’s an awesome idea. Thx
They’re looking great , as suggested you could cover that veranda with a trellis and plant peas, ivy or whatever to cover it and mask the rest. Topping and mainlining as you did is also a great idea so they don’t have the typical structure, great job so far …
Thanks George. I’m really tempted to let the Malawi do its thing. I might go to home depot and grab some pvc. Make a long low trelace. From the st I’m pretty high up, Soni might be ok with a few other distractions. Maybe a couple fake palm trees and tikis
it’s always exciting to see how a gifted clone will turn out. With a 15-gallon fabric pot, it should have plenty of room to thrive. If you’re aiming for a taller plant, you can try skipping the topping
We’ve had some really nice sun since they’ve been outside. I’m still not sure how I’m gonna trelace these. I might get a tomato cage for the violeta since I’m not topping or anything. One odd thing about that one so far is the lack of branches.
Quickly built a 2 tier trelace. These things are getting big, so I got a little nervous. Not sure what I’m gonna do with this stand alone plant. I might clone a bunch and make room. I’d hate to lose it, but I’ll need to access my grill.
The purple Malawi x PCK has taken off in just a few days. It really likes this Bio365 Bioflower. I’ve always heard good things about Ace seeds. Can’t wait for this one. Monster leaves. They said it would be compact, but what’s considered compact to an outdoor grower?
Beast! I’d top her if it’s going to be an issue for sure! Ever looks absolutely stellar out there, gorgeous, happy, healthy plants. Keep up the great work @Puffalo
