Cool man hope the pop for you. This ones very interesting looking with the blue stem and highlights and mutant growth. Ill update when it gets going, i actually hope it stays mutant their usually great with his lines. Kind of reminds me of flo so far

No clue thats dj shorts stock photo, the young plant is mine. Pretty sure he offers it direct on his sight. This is a seed ive saved frim a feeebie of other blueberries. I think its been around a few years

Cool man youve got a nice mutant! I grew out a freebie 6-pack of newberry and f2d them. Two females - one was very crinkle mutant with a branchy structure and was my favorite, very chocolate floral aroma, leaves turned black at the end. The other was a pole structure (like the bb dad) and picky, didnt turn out well for me. The 4 males varied between the two females in structure / mutant traits. I think the best plants in this line are mutants.

Thnx for that info i agree his mutants kick ass. Chocolate sounds lovely, comes from the Oaxaca i think in the lineage or highland thai cant remember.

Okay will probably use a dj blue v2 male to pollinaate it if its a female. If its male ill pollinate a reg dj bb female. Ill lyk

Thanks for showing those off. I have a pack of Blueberry f4’s I’m gonna look through when the space is right. Someone randomly hit me up that f2’d the Newberry and I’m a seed collector. I figured with plans in the future to breed intentionally with them, I might find some magic.
I love seeing these pop up. The F4 Blueberry had blockheads like easter island. I messed that seed run up but retained another pack. Lucky dawg you. Have a good one, they look awesome. Be safe.

Very cool man im running some f6 right now too. Beautiful plants i must say. Cool how each new blueberry generation is almost a new strain all together. Got a vintage grapefruit x dj bb seed opening too atm.

Hey dude. I’ll keep up with you, maybe I can so a seed run for OG since I fugged the first run of the BBf4’'s up. It’s something that’s been bothering me to get back and complete this seed run. I’d like to hold a nice male off to the side. That’s cool You’ve taken them down the road. I had some pretty plants. Knowing my skills are night n day from then til now, it’ll look like a different person. Lol. Excellent work.

Nice looking plants dude. You can always tell some BB. You get some crazy looking leaves and mutations in BB. Everything looks nice and healthy. The Newberry looked stunning fr. I’m always excited to get to a particular strain to grow but some of those BB lines look sick. I’d like to have some Flo to put up with my other DJ Short’s strains for preservation runs here. Cool ass plant i must say although im wondering if i mislabled a flo 13. Guess ill know later on. Thnx for looking im going to build this one up fully and keep it. I like obscure plants there more fun to grow. Possibly a recessive Oregon purple thai? That would be dope af. If you zoom in you can see the coloration on the stem and petioles.

Howdy @nick131740 , the Newberry seed I gave my buddy showed similar mutant’esque traits. Not as extreme as yours and it eventually started growing “normally” albeit quite slow and without much branching, pole structure like @ramblinrose mentions and observed. Solid purple stems and dark green foliage as well. It’s pollen was some of the pollen used on the Dr. Grinspoon specimen during it’s second round of pollination.
The Newberry genetics look promising! A limited release from DJ and one of the more expensive retail packs. You’re lucky to have some of those genetics! While your plant could have been mislabeled, it also seems to be expressing itself like some of the Newberry have been described. Especially the reviews by @ramblinrose, they match up pretty similarly. I’m excited to see how this one performs for you. The recent releases from DJ, although they aren’t that recent anymore since they came out a few years ago, were made from his older work and going for the nostalgic Blueberry types from back in the day.
There aren’t many reports on this variety online. Yours and @ramblinrose’s contributions are some of the only available. The mother for that line, I believe it’s called FX4, is a beautiful looking plant representing the Blue lines. I want to say FX stand for Fruity and eXtreme (resin production). I remember seeing a picture of the FX4 mother on DJ’s Instagram and thinking wow that’s a beautiful plant with attributes that are attractive to me. You’ve got some legendary genetics going on! Cool man thats good to hear. Thanks so much for that information. I thought i knew alot about genetics lol, but your a professor. Always appreciate any imput from you! Ill go check out his grow bc ive seen nothing online. And yes its very slow and columnar not 1 branch. Regardless its just sitting in the corner doing its thing. Prolly be a good minute til i flip it, i want it big so i get a descent harvest. Not sure i may pollinate it with a bodhi genius male to speed it up.
Yes i see the diffrence between these andhis older stuff. I dint have pictures to compare unfortunately, i do remember the true blue being descent back in 2004 or so. Grew alot of it, more floral if i remember correctly. Shit all his stuff is good headstash. His stuff is for the homegrower connoisseurs not production. Comparable to a high end wine vs box wine imo.
Heres the newberry looks a bit taller now…
