Hey everyone I am on a new journey something Ive always been interested in doing but never had the time. I didn’t really follow the rule per say in the germination phase ( which is now) I didn’t us the Paper towel technique or the seed floating in water for fear of messing it up so anxiety kicked in and thought " Hey your Mom, Dad, and Grandma didn’t need to germinate a seed before they planted it" but then I also thought they weren’t growing Unicorn Whip. Also A little advice about watering and light I don’t want to over do anything or vice versa. O yeah those are succulents in the corner I was wondering if growing other plants around would be a problem. Thanks in advance much appreciated
Welcome. I will defer to the dirt farmers, but you’re in the right place.
Welcome.
There is nothing wrong with direct sowing though it will probably increase stager in germination.
Plants in the room wont be a problem if they and the soil they are in is clean from insects/ diseases/virus/ fungus.
By the time those plants are in vegged out and entering flower there probably wont be enough light for a succulent.
Is there draining in those pots? Is it pure coir?
Thanks I hope so it seems like this journey could get a little tricky down the road so i’ll def make it a habit of reaching out
Thanks that does make ense about their being no sunlight. I used miracle gro coarse potting mix ( which I heard is another cardinal sin). Yea the pots have good drainage holes at the bottom.
NOW your fun starts — Happy Cultivation !!!
Thanks!!! Ill keep you guys posted we can test the harvest at cultivation if anybody is in the tri state lol.
I started here in 99, at the OG OG. Came back last year. It’s better than ever. Tons of knowledge.
I was 9 you have a a lifetime Knowledge that just solidified for me that I’m in the right place!
I learned everything I could back then, but a lot has changed since then.
I don’t grow a lot of weed, or even a variety of weed. I’m working on preserving my favorite strain. Everybody has their own vision.
Yea I definitely agree with the own vision I’m tired of paying for lack luster product from the shops and then I don’t know what the guys on the street are putting in there so I figured why not cultivate it for my personal use and also my friends.
Hey Invisiblebully718,
all the best to you on your first grow!!
I also stumbled into OG 1.0 in late 1999, but I lurked for 9 months before I made a handle.
I was however teaching myself, how use a computer so it was UGLY for me.
LJ has revived and made better this treasure trove of good folks all seeking buds.
If I can offer you any insights, just follow to my thread and ask away.
Take care, and best wishes!

Hey webeblzr,
Thank you for the love its much appreciated it’s funny I feel more connected to the cultivating side of the flower community now that I’ve embarked on my gardening journey.
Well to me anyway, I find it FAR more easy to grow for myself, then all the years I spent chasing buds, and of course, back then there was no dispensary’s, to even consider.
Hell I never been in one yet. I’ve been gifted items from them.
I think cannabis growing made me a far better outdoor gardener, as I learned to do shit now, over putting it off.
I’ve built and run so many different ways now, and find all of them thrilling.
Just keep it fun for yourself, you will do well, IMHO.

You’re lucky my friend I feel too uncool to be inside the dispensaries it feels like an early 2000s Hollister Clothing Store trendy vibe.
Hey man look pretty healthy but what’s the plan with two seedlings in one container? I’ve experimented with two plants in a pot and usually doesn’t work unless like seven gallons and up short veg. Going to just cull weaker one?
Good question I had no idea that it was bad idea to have two in one pot lol I guess I’m going to have to do some real gardening now.
