I’ve done my due diligence of reading and seen a million answers…
What’s your target temp/rh in each stage of growth.
How do you decide when to flip to flower?
Like I said I’ve read topics and did my research so I swear I’m not being lazy ![]()

Young plants warmer with higher humidity
Flowering plants cooler with lower humidity
Really you can get away with imperfect conditions but I like high 70s low 80s temp until mid to late flower and humidity not really a big deal until the buds start stacking assuming you have decent airflow. That’s kind of the key is exhausting stale air and recirculating fresh otherwise PM dampening off etc start to crop up. The best way to gain experience is pop some seeds man it may not turn out perfect but you’ll figure it out. Flip to flower when the plant has at least 4/5 nodes and up…some people grow 12/12 from germination but not a big fan. Remember the plant will double or even triple in size depending on strain while some heavy indica’s barely move.
I’m gettin there, I have a high humidity issue when my dehu isn’t on but when it is on I feel like it drops the rh too low I guess. I stress the numbers along with everything else.
The competitiveness in me wants it all to be perfect lol
As lone as you grow there will always never be perfect lol
If your growing there’s issues every turn
It what makes you a better grower
One must work at this hobby to get it right
So many variables
One step at a time
Crack many seeds and have fun
No stress it’s just a plant !
And the plant is ready when the trichomes are ready you’ll need a led eye loop
I like mine at 25 % amber and 75 % cloudy
The overall look can be deceiving but
All hairs must turn color no white hairs or very few
All hairs shrivel and withered
Plant slows down in drinking
Buds have fattened
So many things to ask or know
Just take your time and
The more you grow the more you learn
Reading the plant will tell you a lot
Enjoy

High humidity in veg is fine, as long as there’s air flow, and when they’re small 70% rh and 80-85f is great. Most people say 80-85f for LEDs is optimum, but can you certainly run cooler. I’ve found staying below 60%rh all the way through flowering is fine, but if you can get lower rh, especially towards the end of flower, you may as well, to try to avoid mold. Just remember if your rh is high, have good air flow, and higher temps is better than cold for avoiding mold
Honestly as far as temp & RH go, I just ride them out in veg
in late flower, I actively trying to make sure RH stays below 55% but temps I still just kinda ride out
Under LED, I would say high 70s/low 80s° f gives the best surface leaf temp. Humidity I would say 50-60% in veg thru flower, with that ideally below 55% in late flower.
Cannabis is resilient though, some strains more than others, and I’ve rocked temps and RH way out of spec to still very satisfactory results ![]()
I run Octopots so there’s always high humidity I increase air flow and defoliate in early flower
I try to keep the underside clear of vegetation
But air flow is the key
I one time I got pm was with a strain the was supposedly mold resistant lol
I got a bridge to sell also
I have gotten bud rot when you get big fat heavy buds you run the risk of bud rot
You decide when to flip… when you are ready!
For photoperiods, I’ve heard people recommend when the height is about 50-66% of where you want it to end up, considering that there is a period of stretching through early and mid flower. Expect it to grow up, before maturing. So, hit that 50%, flip the light period, increase that P and K nutrition early on, and then let it run smoothly until the end. This applies to all kinds of flowering and fruiting plants, as well.
If your airflow is good, the humidity is not usually the critical factor, some plants do better in the high humidity, and some do better in the arid desert conditions. Good luck!
If your growing a lot of plants when the leaves start to touch the other plants it’s time
But hight restrictions need to be taken in account
Just say there’s a 2 x stretch well if the plant is 20 inches it will grow 40 more inches so
60 inches can take up a tent quickly that’s why I went tentless
if you have a low ceiling hight you may want learn how to scrog and lst training it will be a big plus
When to feed and what to feed at each stage is a place to start
A good nutrients schedule is key
What fertilizers are you thinking of using and how do you grow? Do you grow in soil, cocoa , Hydro , sips method
Remember the plant has different needs during different stages of development
And how strong to feed when is an other thing
Here’s a chart to look at

Don’t be sorry, I really do appreciate the knowledge
Trial and error sounds like the plan ![]()
Avoiding mold will be my biggest concern so I’m hoping to stay away from it.
