Night in a Fridge Experiment

Hey y’all, I will be submitting my small plant too a night life in the fridge as she finishes up here.

Day time will get normal LED ( although less than my tent because I shut the tent down for drying )

This will be the log 🪵 for the Drunken Cherry Fogdog ( bred by @darkillusion ) fridge experiment.

If the look of the plant is anything to go off of im guessing I’ll give her a week of this experiment… maybe extra.

Here’s a current picture of her. I already see some purple coming out as the genetics just seem produce purple as she finishes. I chopped the top half already because there was a good bit of amber

I will probably throw my govee hygrometer in there so I can see what a night cycle looks like with a plant in the fridge !

Happy to see another person growing out my Drunken Cherry FogDog. The purple is a common thing with this strain from the ones I have grown. As well as what other people have seen with there grows.

So essentially, I’m kind of curious what you all think would happen.

No Light + Dry Cold Air without chopping it. What would this do?

Would it slow the dying process down and make my plant purple from the cold?

So many questions and so little answers !!!

I don’t think it would finish in the fridge. I think it would just stall and eventually just die.

True Bro, I should change the title though, what if the plant is already finished?

I don’t know, I guess it might purple if it has the genetics for it.

This one does , I’m just thinking maybe it stalls like you say, and also turns purple, giving me a interesting final product ! Theres so much unknown it makes me want to try it lol . Just like a 1-3 days in the fridge to see what happens

Ohhhh I just had another thought, what if I have it under the light as normal during the day then fridge her at night :eyes:

That might get you some early winter finishing colors!

I think im gonna go that route tbh, it seems like the least harsh way to experiment like this

Ohh im excited lol

Will do!! absolutely

Mostly of the fridges are very humid, seeds sprouted on mine :see_no_evil:, be careful with that … beer3|nullxnull

Ive done lotus drying in my little fridge and did notice fluctuations.

If I open the door , that spike can be 60+ percent, But if the fridge is really working I don’t see higher than 40 percent !!!

Great then, willing to see pics of the results … beer3|nullxnull

I’ve been using refrigerated drying for a few years now. Works very well, but takes a couple of weeks. The final product is very nice. No hay smell and excellent terpene and resin retention. Happy to answer any questions, and I would point you to 420mag dot com for a really nice lotus cure method thread.

Do you have any thoughts on this particular idea?

I have semi successfully done lotus though before and it was quite good smoke <3 Just a little harsh haha.

It seems like a good experiment and I will be eagerly watching the results. If it produces favorable results I’ll be your first disciple. Good luck :crossed_fingers:

Could you elaborate on the harshess? Any theories as to why?

Something I just thought of is with the heat here recently its been 75-80 in my room during the hottest part of the day, so she’ll be going from 80F to 45F :stuck_out_tongue:

Um, It might just be my bowl haha XD , But it tasted good the first hit or two, but became slightly harsher on the finishing hits.

Im thinking its a me problem though, Im still really new to growing and have not dialed in grow/ cure just yet !

This is very interesting. I think it will most likely just die but it may turn purple before. Sometimes I have plants that dont finish before they begin to get frosted on a regular basis and they stall and die. But you never know. :rainbow:

The main problem with a fridge seem to be that you never know if the light is on unless you open the door.
