I have heard from friends that Earth Dust is good, but you need to follow the directions carefully, and allow the soil to cook for 2 weeks prior to using. My friend who used this most said that there is no need to PH the water unless you are using Coco coir, and it is best if used in fabric pots to avoid over-watering and algae growth, and it is best if they are very large (10-15 gallons). Also, he said that some Cal-Mag may be needed if you see signs of spotting. After you top-dress, be sure to cover it with some straw mulch or plant a cover crop to protect that top layer by keeping it covered to help make the top-dress much more effective. It is best practice not to top-dress after week four of flowering - doing it too late interferes with a plants natural senescence.
