This looks like a modern day snakes and ladders. In many ways, to date my life has been like this game, it’s actually make me less risk averse.

I grew up in the 1950s in the US and am familiar with this game as Chutes and Ladders.
Thank you for “properly” naming it. I otherwise would have had no idea of its origins!
