different ages of people as well…
Older people didn’t used to hang out on beaches as much as younger folks…
But what happened to our health is Corporate Food Industry…
in 1970’s, there were less than half the number of food processing Corporations or Fast Food options. People relied of fresh and home-cooked food instead of prepackaged or fast-food full of processed oils and chemicals our bodies can’t process properly…not to mention ‘‘flavor enhancers’’ that also add unnecessary calories, salt, sugar and fat.
Also- automation/technology. Most jobs were standing, moving, physical labor-- not sitting on our asses in front of a screen/phone!
Processed & ultra processed foods happened folks…and stop buying liquid candy just because they’re on sale…btw, liquid candy aka pop/soda…I haven’t had pop in over 20 yrs.
This is incredible: a 200-million-year-old relic from the dinosaur age has just borne fruit in a quiet English garden, thanks to the dedication of a retired couple. Pamela and Alistair Thompson planted a tiny Wollemi pine—Wollemia nobilis—at the foot of the Malvern Hills back in 2010. Once believed to be extinct since the time of the T-Rex, this ancient tree species was dramatically rediscovered in 1994 in a hidden gorge near Sydney, Australia. Now standing over 13 feet tall, their Wollemi pine has produced its first-ever fruit, astonishing 75-year-old Pamela this spring. The tree, which bears both male and female cones, has developed its distinctive spiky female fruit, and the couple now hopes to collect and germinate seeds to help propagate this critically endangered species. If successful, their garden-grown survivor could help ensure the legacy of one of Earth’s rarest and most ancient living trees.
