Beautiful! It’s a Portuguese piece, I didn’t know of it’s existence until now but it has the Portuguese coat of arms in the centre.

We used to call those TAPS. They were made to keep you from wearing your heels down on your shoes. But they also made a cool tapping sound while walking.

Waves are a force to be reckoned with…
Used to wonder why all the planks on many of the piers in Cozumel were numbered. Found out during Zeta. To save their wooden piers they unbolt ALL the planks and store them inland!
Not all piers do this, some of the resorts lost theirs because they were left in place. The ones who removed planks, were up and operational within 2 days of the storm.
Seems like a lot of work, but its crazy how fast they come up / go back down…
