i am firmly aware of where it originated, it’s mine and i know where i got it. i know what it was written for, in fact, i had a discussion with the actual creators on this one. one thing in particular was they put that part in so that it would be immediately recognizable since their focus groups said “it didn’t hit without it”. i recall that part specifically because i don’t often interact with the folks that create the stuff and that phrase stood out to me as extremely unusual. i often use this meme around this time of year though, just to make a point. in fact, this is the only time of year i will use my jesus memes, and tomorrow will be it.
as for the last question, i refer you to my other explanatory meme about how it is not political. take it how you wish, that is your prerogative.
Uh, ok. It rather looks like Al Franken wrote this, but maybe the dozens of articles associating this with his book “Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them,” which seems to have been written with the aim of satirizing Republican policies and attitudes, just don’t mention the original writers. Does it matter, at this point? Reality is what it is, and this is a political meme, regardless of how much waffle you come up with to justify it as anything else.
