Yes, it is, and both the insurance companies and hospitals are state LLC.
Well, it is a complicated subject.
https://www.korpisworld.com/Mathematics/math%20leftovers/women%20are%20evil.htm
Hospitals are Corporations-- owned by private Citizens, run by a board of directors and LICENCED by the Government-- at least here they are.
All our Doctors in the 8 adjoining Counties here were 'bought up by 2 different Corporations, and are now run like profiteering Companies… You can not call your doctors office. You have to call their 'Call center located ON THEOTHER SIDE OF THE STATE and talk your way through multiple transfers just to talk to someone nearby that MIGHT know something about that particular office/doctor.
Need to discuss ANYTHING with your doctor? Nope- and You can’t just leave a message like you used to, or even an email-- now we have to make an appointment for $120 so we can ask one fucking question.
Need to see your doctor for something like possible bronchitis /pneumonia??
Too bad-- there’s a 8-10 week wait for an appointment-- They tell you to go spend $2000+ at the SAME CORPORATE OWNED facility for an E.R visit and spend 7-8 hours to find out you have an upper respiratory infection.
Tell me again how that isn’t Capitalism.
My ex father in law was vice president of Baptist hosp. Made 1 million a year salary plus bennifits. I looked right at him and said there isn’t a man alive or ever walked this earth worth 1 million a year. Needless to say we never got along to well.
It still depends what you mean by “Capitalism”
If I mean Laissez Faire free markets, no - that’s definitely not a description of such a thing.
If you mean state sanctioned corporatism where the law acts as a port-a-potty*, then no. That’s not what I mean by “Capitalism”.
And that’s not a scenario where private actors are the issue, no.
(*No one actually wants to use it. They just don’t want to go to jail for doing their business outside of it)
“I earned” =/= “I am worth”
I can earn a million dollars. It’s not an appraisal of my worth as a human being, just an appraisal of what value others found in me.
So, you can’t really oppose anyone earning a million, as I see it, without opposing others being free to choose what they value and what they do with their own money.
I loath no man so much that I would oppose the right of others to choose, even if they chose a man I loath…
I just figure if the daily posts about how (we should)
Eat the Rich, Bash the Fash, Capitalism Has Failed, etc
are NOT political … certainly we can discuss them.
Here’s how I define it…as do most…
cap·i·tal·ism
/ˈkapədlˌizəm/
noun
An economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit.
“an era of free-market capitalism”
Okay then.
If by Capitalism you mean free trade,
then inc/LLC hospitals
are not instances of Capitalism.
If you’re publicly traded, you are by definition NOT privately owned and are answerable to both the board and stock holders for “Failure of Fiduciary Duties” - can actually be fined and fired for not prioritizing profit above even your own goals for the company.
If you’re merely incorporated, you are still the corporate arm of government action by degree and by decree. You operate how and when the state says you should, or you are not permitted operation. That is again not a description of freely chosen private action.
In either case …
Corporate Hospitals =/= Free Market capitalism
Seriously, what does that mean? Is it an allusion to the fashion industry?
Thank you.
I believe capitalism is one of the two. Might I ask what the other one is?
Again, thank you.
