Note to New Breeders

This is pretty simple but it has saved my ass.

When looking for males, look for, and save, 2.

This redundancy has saved my ass on a few occasions.

You can either choose what seems the better male to you or pollinate with both.

My last seedrun I had 2 supposed males and one hermed instantly at flip. The second one was very good insurance.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I was trying to come up with an egg vs sperm/pollen joke for an “all your eggs in a basket” pun but gave up if someone else wants to take a swing at it. Other than that its good advice!

If you want to put things in my basket you’d better buy me a drink first.

But really, I’ve started doing it as protocol.

See here, not the best pic, but there are two.

I decided to let them both live and spit pollen because they were uniform enough that I didn’t feel the need to make a selection.

It’s all moot. They die tomorrow. One more good pollen shake and I will have attained the degree of pollination I’m looking for.

Thanks for the tip! I recently was keeping 2 males and culled one at week 3. I figured it would just be more of a mess if I waited longer. First thought was “hope that one don’t herm now” lol Pollenating the females in the next week or so so should be fine.

Kept the left one

solid tip. Ive had females that tested as ladies, had female preflowers on the mom then when flowered the first thing to pop out was some male flowers at day 8 of flower. Thought I was loosing my mind lol.
Seems good practice for males
