Yes most pest wonā€™t bother plants with the foil shine is the science behind that. Iā€™ve used Mylar outdoors under my plants lol

Just for that anti pest and more light below factor. The best place I grew was always by rivers and ponds to get that lower diffused light to the plants. :dove:

can Plants recieve light from the under-side of Leaves?

Idk? Hereā€™s some reference.

@VerdantGreen worked with the line also I hear.

Low light stress causes symptoms like poor leaf growth, yellowing and dropping of leaves.

Most people reach for nutrients or plant food.

Testing the aluminum foil or mylar before adding anything will prove if it was just a low light symptom.

Good question to ask if the underside of leaves absorb light for growth.

Iā€™m guessing yes. :100::dove:

Are the bottoms just droopy a little or are they reaching towards to foil for light?

Iā€™ve had them grow straight towards the wall where foil was. It looks LST but it was never tied down early in a 25 gal container with 4 inches of soil.
When I transplanted it I didnā€™t need a big container. It fit in that size container and finished in it.

In 110 days from seed it finished like this. The tap root took a bend up and down when it was in its 30 day pre transplant stage.

Those pics are when it was added. I needed more inner growth.

Then I remove it when I get the lowers extended out where I can prune it for more main tops.

I think the cross may have been '79, but Im thinking BOEL used an earlier Oaxacan from 67-68 era when they sailed from Oaxaca to Hawaii.
From what Ive read, they started working on Mauie Wowie not long after the Hendrix concert they threw, so, 1970-72 seasons, which is when they started breeding everything back to their various Afghans.

Cherry Bomb was the name given to the Mauie Wowie that was brought back to California and bred on the mainland to differentiate it from the line maintained on the Islands.

I think I had an excess of those. Iā€™ll try to check today. I didnā€™t get anything interesting on the first time I grew them. I think itā€™s the same one MrGreengens made and shared with Swami Organic. Jut remind me any time cause my memory seems to be less than what it used to be. peace

Gonna try some oaxhacan clones (5) with a couple fast finishers lol should be interesting. The Oaxacan clones very well. I kept my favourite female for cuts

I donā€™t think they can as efficiently. They turn their leaves toward the light though. Good question. Imoā€¦Green is green, no matter which way is up, and extra lumens down low will for sure be put to work by the plant.

Hey @GregOG I was playing around with an idea last summer to give my autos some extra side lighting. I had the LED light rope already as well as a leftover piece of tomatoe wire and put this together. It worked really well but something I would do differently is to space the lights out a bit, maybe an inch between each row. The light rope is 50 foot and puts out about 65 watts of 3000k light. Does a nice job.

I really like this idea. Iā€™ve tried a few hack methods of adding side lighting to my tents. But I donā€™t think I added enough to make it worth it. But this looks like it would really add a lot of beneficial light :+1:

direct light compared to indirect light (when say a house covers the sun, but its daytime, thats indirect) is as follows direct 100 percent strenght , indirect 5 percent strenght.

so, if you make experiment indoors without mylar, lamps below the plants and they stagnate you can be shure they dont have receptors below
