Occasional seed found in female bud

@Reithel I’m new to growing as well but from what I keep hearing on growing podcasts that I listen to is that there is no real scientific evidence to why cannabis plants leave behind a single seed. Some believe that it happens because the plant wants to leave it’s genetics behind but that could just be bro science. Anyway that’s what I heard on From The Stash and The Green Table. Please don’t attack me I’m fragile lol

I don’t feel fragile… just ignorant… in school I was an excellent student, but I avoided science as much as possible, barely got a C in college Biology and remember none of it (by design), although now I admit I wish I had paid more attention when we discussed plant reproduction…

Anyway… I just began harvesting and I am getting DOZENS of seeds from a single plant. I am pretty sure it went way past when I should have cut it, and then then add in the heat wave five weeks ago which I’m told is the amount of time it takes to grow seeds…

Well, I’m just trying to find reasons why I saw NO bananas anywhere at any time, yet I am prying seed after seed out of buds that were supposed to be female.

In words a non-scientist can understand, please.

Because nanners are hella sneaky….1 rogue cluster tucked away under a leaf could have done that, shriveled up and fell off like nothing happened. Maybe

Look on the bright side, you have feminized seeds to grow out later lol

Not the way what?? I told you… I am ignorant…

@Gizmo So are you saying I should not plant the seeds I found? I’m confused.

It was excellent! I’m going to look up more of your videos in the next couple of days. I think I can learn a lot from them!!! Thank you so much!!

Back to Ms. L.E.2. … just to be clear, this is NOT the plant the nubby pictures came from… Miss Laganga Estranga the 2nd is the original “Occasional Seed” that was found in a Female Plant.

Close up with flash… nice top!

Me L.E.2 has a lot of tan splotches all over her leaves… don’t know why this happened to JUST her… all my other plants had the same dirt, the same distilled water, the same light schedule in the same room (so, same temp and humidity)… I read some articles online and apparently it’s a sign of calcium deficiency. I missed everybody’s second date for general fertilizer, so since everyone is flowering now, I jumped to Flower Girl and I’m hoping that will give her a boost.

Still can’t figure out what I did wrong or different with Ms L.E.2 but hopefully that fertilizer will save her.

Any stress can cause it . Looking at those they’ve been threw more than just 1 90deg day . Too much nitrogen and major ph or tds changes will do it everytime

Its so easy to miss a cluster .

I have 2 gals that will toss the odd 1 perfect seed in a nug . (Dosidos and cookies and cream). If stressed they can turn into full blown seed weed.

I gave Ms. L.E.2 some fertilizer and she’s “hangin’ in there” still getting bigger.

Ms. Laganga Estranga the 2nd, aka Ms. L.E.2, is still alive in spite of all the tan speckles on her leaves… and I think her buds are getting fatter too, so hopefully the fertilizer helped.

Here are a couple of pictures, with and without flash:

Sorry about being a couple of days late this week, my cat — my best friend for almost 20 years — became seriously ill and was close to leaving me on the day I usually take the pictures, (Sunday), so I didn’t do anything but hold her and tend to her needs. She passed Monday morning at about 10:30.

I just realized I missed taking the pictures so here it is:

!

She isn’t getting much taller these days, but she’s getting chunkier buds. It won’t be long now.

So sorry to hear about your fur baby! That is horrible! She is happy chasing spirit mice and climbing spirit trees now and I guarantee you she is still with you and sniffing your beautiful plant! Your plant looks good! Looks like you’re close to harvest time, I’m new here too and spend more time reading then posting around here, the people here hold up the convos plenty good to need another to intervene. Very interesting thread, I’ll leave it at that lol
