Occasional seed found in female bud

I’m so sorry to hear about your fur friend!

My sincerest condolences. :crying_cat_face:

I’m sure he/she felt so loved and cherished here on this earthly plane by you, that they will be keeping a spot by the hearth warm in Summerland, for you. :heart_eyes_cat:

This is a great thread! :+1:t2: Come diary.

Miss L.E.#2 looks awesome in her own right! Grow Onward, you’re doing great! 🪴💚

The beans that come off the stress I’m finding out are all female and they are almost identical to the mothers.I think it’s good to build up your stash with these but I don’t think I’d breed with them.Did this by accident with one of my skunks and all the beans are growing nuclear and all female no intersex traits.

Me Laganga Estranga the Second (aka Ms L.E. 2), is coming down the home stretch this week and this may be her last (upright, alive) picture. The microscope showed a few ambers dots so if they are more plentiful this week, we will be chopping.

I will hate to see her go… I get way too attached to my green babies, but the circle of life never stops turning.

I suppose these pictures should have been under the category of a Grower’s Journal, but I didn’t know my original question would turn into one.

Here she is today:

Looking about there! I know exactly what you mean, the plant absorbs your energy and you hers. Do you got another grow lined up? I hope you make a diary of it

I have a growing diary going under the title “Runt Seed Surprise” that is a Girl Scout Cookie plant that started from a tiny seed that took 3 weeks to germinate… now it’s so tall it’s almost falling over… much taller than Ms L.E.2, even though it’s not as mature.

I won’t be starting any new seeds for a while… can’t have too many growing at the same time in my state.

After harvest, I will let you know when I start a new diary. Thanks!!

Miss Laganga Estranga the Second (aka Ms L.E.2) has given her “all” for a good cause… and the carousel never stops turning. I loved raising her and I will miss her. Just as her mother, the original Laganga Estranga plant gifted me with the single seed that created that beautiful plant, she has also gifted me with a couple of seeds.

Maybe someday, we will meet again.

This will be my last entry on this topic… it should have been under Grow Diaries, but it was sort of an accident that it became one.

You can find my current Grow Diary under the title “Runt Seed Surprise”

Thanks to everyone who followed along!

Back in the 80’s i ran my “special” ladies out to 13 or 14 weeks( 9 week strains) to collect “banannas” . I did that because, even though i looked really hard, my Sinse bud had no seeds. Never did find any magical beans in the top buds, or any other buds for that matter. But then again, i CHECK m,y strains, do notv run herm prone shit, and see it, they get jerked instantly. My tents are right, no stress to my plants.

Collecting the one sided pollen was cool, and it always worked well. I will most likely do that to any of the “Elite” cuts i just recieved, if i like them. Realize i could hunt the magic bean, or use chemical persuasion, but good ole nature’s rodelization works for me.

GD, i must REALLY be bored to be reading all the crap in here…LMAO!!!

I love bagseeds.I usually find them in the middle of the biggest buds in my bags every now and then not often and never in clutches of any more than two or three it’s usually one though might go threw a whole QP and never find one. This was a bagseed from a half ounce I got for my birthday last year.Talk about a gift that kept on giving i pollinated three lower branches with some 93 Mexican brickweed pollen and some Chem91/GG#4 pollen for some experiment seeds and they all took very nicely seeds been stacking up for two weeks now and pods getting fat.The thing I like about this one is it has buds from the bottom up like spears and it got topped by a grasshopper and I could kiss that little fucker because it made that plant spread out like an eagle.I will definitely be getting more than a half on this one def bonus.Plant reeks like Lime and Bubblegum and Skunk.Wish I knew what it was oh well

I saw this with Flo, she sprouted exactly one seed at the tippy top of the apical cola. Weirdest thing. The seed looked pale but hard and maybe viable?

Nei’s index of gene diversity and Shannon’s Information index were not
statistically different for both populations. The extent of genetic variation after one
generation of selfing in the progeny from hermaphroditic seed is similar to that in progeny
from cross-fertilized seeds.

Sequence analysis of these fragments revealed the presence of
Copia-like retrotransposons within the C. sativa genome which may be associated
with the expression of male or female phenotype. In ISSR analysis, the percentage
of polymorphic loci ranged from 44 to 72% in hermaphroditic and cross-fertilized

populations.

Therefore, the presence of Copia-like retrotransposons within
the C. sativa genome is confirmed, but their functions or
association with the expression of male or female phenotype
remains to be determined.

the complete genetic constitution of the MiMe plants (whether heterozygous or any other genetic constitution) could be perpetuated.

We may soon know the answer to this question.
After a bit more research it would seem that apomixis is most likely possible in cannabis.
The video seems to state they are working with cannabis.

Thanks to @Cactus for the video.
22:30 it gets very interesting about apomixis.
38:45 Sharbel is working with medicinal cannabinoids!

@vernal Have you reviewed the evidence @Cactus has provided us with?
Do you still feel this is just crazy talk?
It would seem some the folks in the video don’t agree with your opinion that it is just not possible in cannabis.
Maybe we should keep our minds open to the possibility of this really happening.
@Cactus is a pretty smart guy and he is very open minded when it comes to this topic.
I do feel more investigation is needed, but so is an open mind.

Are apomictic plants not identical to the mother?

Bagseeds often resemble the mother and often don’t but unless people are growing out these “just one seed” and “apomictic” plants and getting actual genetically identical plants, I just don’t see it.

Accidental pollination seems far far more likely an explanation, and usually the simplest explanation is right.

I have an open mind, I just need actual evidence, not conjecture. The moment I see compelling evidence I’ll change my tune.

Just to add some popcorn with this “intersex female rodelized during an advanced process of über self pollination that can potentially output the next Chem D” ^^

update : yeah the pic is not innocent at all ^^
update 2 : not fair i added another one

I will take that as a no…LOL

As I have said many times in this thread, I do not disagree and is usually the case.

Seems you need absolute proof it has without a doubt happened to believe it is even possible.
To me that is not really being open-minded.

I thought the fact that folks are spending money on cannabis apogamy research would at least be some acceptable compelling evidence that they think it is at least possible or why would they waste the money if they know it is not?

Again I feel you should swap out the word evidence for the words absolute proof to make your statement more accurate. :slightly_smiling_face:

Myself, I will keep an open mind at least until I have absolute proof either way.

Man we’ve been over this.

Instead of saying “well it is technically possible, and it sometimes happens in other plants, it COULD happen maybe in theory with enough people working on it”, come to me with actual evidence of it occurring in Cannabis.

This international company doing advanced breeding research with CRISPR type gene editing, and some guy on the internet insisting how his one seed he found in a bud is for sure rodelization or apomictis is just…kinda absurd. Did they even explicitly mention their Cannabis breeding work?

All I’ve been saying the entire time. My mind is open…to evidence.

Found the German
