Those are all spot on Paps!
Especially the comments about Frankie in Octos. Same here regards the water level. The lower I was willing to keep the water level, the happier Frankie looked. Mid-flower I started topping the rez up and Frankie did not dig it at all.
Also the surprising amount of roots in the bag. I only had about a half inch of dry, root-free soil at the top, the rest was solid roots. Big root development in non-nutrient soil, odd.
Thanks for jotting that down, I’m printing it for my logbook.
Frankie looks good man!, Especially the one just getting started. I really like the look of that plant. Mac builds slow but steady to week 10, you will be fine. Her 40 day cured buds are amazing smelling now.
Octos can work 2 ways i have found. Get roots down good n early into rez, can fill the rez with roots.
OR
The just set up in the sleeve and “wick” water to them. Seen some sleeves SOLID root mass from 2/3 down on. Did not see much difference in performance either way .
I have not grown Frankie yet, but have kept a mother for months now. She is a fast ass vegger in my octopot and likes to branch and go wide, a hog in the mother tent.
GG4 looks frosty !
Floyd’s 99 looks excellent too…from seed i take it, anf F2?
The PP looks like same pheno i found, with the hair bomb out the top like that
The BBS looks like its gonna color real nice, like the looks of that plant too.
The video explicitly mentions “DNA-destroying properties” of the light. That’s UV-C. The fine print; it’s also dangerous to expose yourself to, will kill any beneficial life in your soil if you have any, and isn’t necessarily great for the plants either. UV-C kills. Everything, in sufficient intensity.
The upsides; it does kill pests. Depending on the crop and intensity, it might also stunt height and increase branchiness, which I guess is what tent growers want. It can also delay, or speed, flowering depending on the species and the intensity. Cool trick, but you’re playing with fire imo. Watching the video on the seller’s site… well, I’m not even clear on whether or not this is meant for cannabis plants. The model showing the setup makes it look that way, but when they actually show the plants being treated, they barely look like cannabis. Certainly not happy cannabis.
I bought the C99 seeds from Peakseedsbc originally. He said he acquired his C99 back in 2009. I then made C99 seeds. If C99 is considered technically an IBL Im not sure if you can say F2 and so on.
At least if they are coming from old stock.
I had the original Brothers Grimm C99 back in the early 2000s too. Kept a mother for about 4 years.
Just saying I thought the original was an IBL. So if thats true, F2 and so on doesnt really apply.
But what do I know. Im not a breeder. Just an occational chucker. Lol
Yeah, there’s a bit too much going on in that room not to mention 12 moms. This one’s getting a bit out of hand I have to rotate the plants for better light distribution
I need to thin out the moms I’ll pic and choose from these
I do want to keep the c99 cut around looks like a good producer hopefully it’s as good as I remember if not I’ve got seeds I’ll cull the mom
If I find that winner it’ll stay around for a few runs
I’m very interested in the Ill eagle seeds ( greases piece x Tropicana cookies ) x cherry west bc1
Iv got 2 different phenoms one very Tropicana cookie and one very cherry west
We shell see what they bring
Mac and pwc and Frankie stays
I have SAN’s killer cookies in the clone tent for next run
If I don’t have any seed left of what’s running I keep a clone till I get tired lol
Hey Paps, you get a lot done in your area.
Of course, I’ve no idea how big or small, none of my business.
The few times I wanted to keep a mom, well it was more to practicing some Bonsi tips and tricks, to keep a health mature plant is a small pot.
Root pruning,( not as sever as Bonsi) will to hold a plant in a healthy state.
Along with reducing the plant height above the pot.
Reducing the light source, T5’s and the distance to plant also an aid.
Reducing food, but keeping them healthy is the final challenge, IMHO
Since you are a master gardener, you know exactly the food and goodies you give them, (I do read your words, LOL) you are meticulous in plant management, a gift I do not have.
I’m more a plodhopper, I plod along until a crisis has me hopping.
I’d bet, you can keep your Bonsi moms in better state, than most could, in very small pots, as mom real estate is precious, when compared to the bud you can make in that space.
All the best to you and yours man!!
Just my rambling. webe
