Eh? What do we think?
Well keep in mind OG has members around the world in different time zones. So how could that be worked around?
Post a time but post it in a few major times when you post it. Could use any off the free apps that can be found on any smart tv or roku or firestick, think plex, roku channel, tubi.
I’ve actually thought about this a lot before, and it seems it couldn’t be live for everyone… would need to be a film everybody agrees to watch, that is easily accessible, or broadcast through a platform where everyone can actually see it… And who’s picking? Would it be like a lottery for the choice of the week, or up to a vote, or…? And what would the limits be? A lot of movies out there that are not necessarily for everyone… and others that not everyone cares to watch…
Whats the delay for discord streaming? Ive used it plenty while gaming and it doesnt seem too bad
I was on a Discord called The Warriors Code and streamed a copy of the movie The Warriors one night. It’s simple and works fine.
So glad you asked. It would be a vote, like at day care.
Maybe a small council who decides what isn’t and isn’t appropriate or approved. Anyone can submit a movie, and a few people can choose a few movies to go into the voting pool. Perhaps it could rotate.
Many streaming services work over Discord. Very easy way to get everyone synced up and on the same page. I know plenty of European degens who stay up until ungodly hours to play Runescape or otherwise interact with us Americans/Canadians/Central/South Americans.
If any region feels left out, God forbid, they can have their own channel and/or time slot! ![]()
I’ve watched many movies over Discord with buddies; the delay is negligible. We watched Alien: Romulus the other day and it was a riot. You just need a single person with the streaming service, and Discord makes it a breeze to stream it to others for a group setting.
I love anything crime/drama and one day my buddy called me on it - i love cop movies! traitor tendencies!!! ![]()

Thing is, Discord is VERY easy to customize.
My plan would be this:
Anyone can submit a movie. A few people each week don’t get to submit, but they get to choose from the overall list (which will probably be several dozen movies), then that list of 9 movies or so (for example, if we let 3 people make 3 picks each from the list) goes back to a popular vote. Majority wins.
Anyone who feels left out, whether it be because of time zone, language, etc, can have their own channel and time slot. A standard, non-Nitro server has the capacity to host several active voice and streaming channels at once.
