Just wanted to start something up with some bagseeds
I’ve held for a good while. From what I remember these were all saved from a good batch of outdoor from Norcal. Gotta be almost 15 to 20 years old. Got 3/10 to make it. Here’s a pic of the best looking. I have 30 more, plant is unique looking to me. I just wanted to share what I find. I’m just going to let them grow naturally, usually don’t train first timers. I generally read their grow tendencies first round, and adjust accordingly.
I like that I have no idea what the genetics are. I know they are from 2008 time frame, Cali outdoor. Def have a hybrid look. I’ll have pics of the other 2 after work.
Have no freaking clue, will know more as they get bigger…as in indica dom or sativa dom lol. Maybe I’ll find the next chemdog…jk I just have to think I saved them bc it was good smoke as I’ve never saved seeds before. Had a good connect in college too with west coast access for outdoor every fall. I’m starting more seeds this weekend too. I’ll def let you know about those Kentucky seeds though.
I’ve grown random bagsseds in the early 2000s from Mexican. It was hit and miss with some never finishing, and others being 9 weekers. I should have much better odds with these being superior genetics hopefully. How did your bagseed plant come out phil?Phil?
Here’s the other pheno…taller and pole like. Looks like a possible male, but you never know. This one is burning a bit. Ocean forest soil can be hot to some plants. Most plants adjust and are fine after first transplant, if not ill mix in old soil at 3rd transplant.
Very cool! Your green leaves are really a healthy dark color. I hope you can retain them until close or till the end. That dark green-blue color suggests some Kush in them.
One of these days I need to do the same. I have some 25+ year old seeds from some really great Mex bagweed. I can only assume they are the good ol pure sativa from “back in the day”.
Ya I was also thinking they had a " kushy" look to the foliage. My little brother has 5 going too, I’ll add his to this thread when he sends pics.
Here’s the 3rd one, lost all the bigger fans from overwatering and rootbound. Just transplanted and hope she bounces back. This one had huge fan leaves and thick stem.
Hope you plan to make some seeds with them? Those plants might be less bottle-necked & worth something I’m a newb but I listen to a lot of breeder podcasts lol
I’m probably just going to keep the females and reveg if there’s an outstanding individual. This is due to space constraints. I always have new seeds coming, have ssh waiting to be popped and 2 young ethos xxx growing right next to these. I don’t know what made me pop these, as I only run fems lately. With that said 2 of the best plants I’ve grown came from packs of mix seeds early 2000s. One was spice of life adventure mix, other was chimera( ryan lee) breeder mix pack.
Lol at least the bathrooms clean right? My tent is right outside the bathroom, I’ll find a better backdrop. Here’s my brother’s plants, he has 4 going. These are a week old. He switched to 12 12 to show sex…I’ll have recent pictures this evening. His look very different, could be environment?
Last pic for the week until next Monday, just fed them this morning. The back plant has very tight spacing, it’s the one I have my eye on out of the 7 we have going. If female it’s def going to be a donkey dick growth pattern
Now there’s some leaves I haven’t seen in a really long time.I’m a bit pedantic on leaf shapes and I’ve been obsessed with them since I was 14.Reminds me of the shape of the Christmas bud we used to cop seeds out of the bags every now and then but very few everyone hoarded that one .grew arm sized kolas that were very heavy and got bud rot up here in Buffalo back in the early 2000s.Bagseed grows can turn out to be some of your best plants always take cuttings.I’ve let some legendary one slip through me fingas.Never again.Grow looks great your doing fine they were a bit hungry from the looks of the lower leaves.Feed should perk them up nicely pay attention to the root balls if they get bound up they will also do that sometimes and they will get droopy on you.I’ve been keeping up with the upotting and it helped on nute problems a lot might help you some
I totally love bagseed it’s what got me into growing. You never know what hidden gems are in there and hey if you find something cool you get to name it!
My passion is sourcing scions and grafting world class tropical fruit trees. Many of the avocados that rock the SoCal area were once “chance” trees, seedling selections from someone’s back yard and then commercialized because of their market value, taste, vigor, etc. Classic example is Hass found in Rudy Hass’ back yard. Could name a dozen more but I digress.
