Oldtime grower needs advice

This is the first time I have ever been on this kind of site. I am a OLD time grower toss and hope LOL. I am in Ohio and first real summer I have put out a few. I am looking for any advice on the plant here. It was a seed that started in another pot with another so not sure what is what. I originally thought it was a Auto and it is a photo and did not plant a photo at the time when I started indoor. Any advice or help will be appreciated.

Hello, Ohio resident here :fist::fist:

Your plant is well into the full bloom stage. It looks healthy. Letting it finish in the manner it is ( in my opinion) is the best option.

Your feeding requirements ( suggested)

.5 - 7 - 18

Something with higher potassium ( sulphur), decent amount of phosphorus and minimal nitrogen.

The final two weeks just keep your media active no feedings necessary during the final two weeks.

Thank you Chef, I appreciate your input. I will say that I have been using Reefertilizer Grow and Bloom on my plants just started using it this year and this plant received only 5 weeks of Bloom and it has been 4 weeks w/o. What has been hard for me to figure is when these new strains are ready to harvest. I used organic potting soil and fox farm soil and mixed all together. if you have suggestions or advice it will be appreciated.

Thank you Hawkman, May I ask do you harvest at the times the strains say should be or go by other means.

I highly suggest investing in a 1000x handheld microscope. The investment is well worth cost.

The microscope allows you to see the development of the trich heads to make an informed decision. Yes, you could post pictures, ( we all could guess), but to know for sure when a plant is ready to harvest saves headaches and speedy feeling flower.

The item costs no more than 20-25 USD on Amazon.

Visually there are cues … the orange hairs being a sure sign you are closer to harvest than farther away

Weight- the plant will begin to not need as much water per day

***However, those are cues and not set in stone.

For autos I’d say it’s too tough to classify it this way. They also don’t just grow on a schedule of days, things like DLI, photoperiod, daylight hours, light intensity or amount of sunlight, and environmental temps all seem to play a factor.

A majority of autos will show sex sometime around day 18-25, but, their real growth spurt and veg stage is yet to come, and is in that 25-50ish range, but many autos will keep growing/stretching and stacking well past 100 days if they’re happy and good genetics. Stage cropping can work great in that case, if you have the rooom. At least that’s what I find indoors and to be most common.

Confusing matters, if temps are low or daylight/lighting is limited and plants are small, they will veg longer, and delay showing sex, depending on the genetics. I just popped a few hundred of similar genetics along with some more modern hybrid types and they sprouted, vegged, and auto flowered on different schedules, but mostly the same as their siblings.

@rabbittbuckeye welcome to the site! If you’d like some beans to take for a spin, auto or photo, always looking for people to get my creations wet. I do photos, autos, and mutants and make more strains that I can possibly test or grow myself. Lots of old school stuff, shoot me a pm or check out my log if you’re interested :v:

I do have another question for you. Do you have any recollection of who made the seeds? It will give maybe some insight as to when your cultivar could possibly be done.

84 ( give or take) out the door is a general rule for the auto-flowering cultivar. Some take longer, some slightly less.

If we use the 84 rule, you would have about 21 days left.

This is a Royal Queen Seed. I am thinking this might be Chocolate Haze strain.I started with those when it was legalized. All of the others I started for outdoors
are Growers Choice. Here is a micro shot I took with IPhone 15 if this will help this was a Friday

Youre going to have to get a jewelry loupe or magnifier as someone already said.

Theres too many variables to tell otherwise. Even in your own environment, with same strain, some will finish quicker.

The man, the myth, the legends saving another forum post.

I am going with Cladestine & Acro: some form of a magnifying device will be needed. The iPhone cannot reach the necessary magnification needed for proper harvesting time.

I bought a “digital microscope” on Amazon for about $30. It connects to your phone or tablet through wifi, and you can see the images on your device’s screen. You can also take pictures, videos, and save them to look at later. If your eyes are getting older, this saves you from squinting and looking through a small viewfinder. Well worth it in my experience !

Thank You, it is a different way nowadays.

I used a microscope a couple of times on the trichomes and have gone back to focusing on the overall plant. Especially aroma!

Could be that they didn’t work the Auto line far enough and it still had photo plants in the line

Just a update since I received the advice, I do start smelling aroma this week and buds stating to get more amber PRETTY (wife says) LMAO.
I am keeping eyes on a couple that look sickly, droopy a few yellowish-yellow leaves at bottom of branches. Stopped watering for about 3 days and just put sprinkler on them today. See what they look like tomorrow fingers crossed. AGAIN THANX to ALL that gave advice much appreciated.
