Do you feel up to this @DougDawson
Let me look into this @Greyfox , quite frankly it’s a bit confusing to me. Once @monkeyman mentioned this I started looking and all I can find is the image might have a copyright. Might is not really helpful. Let me see what I can dig up.
Yesterday counted 9 males got rid of 5 because of structure and spindles.
Also these showed in like 3 days not in my SOP.
7 of them Sowahs Kept 2 and kept 2 of Rezs.
The Rez plants are alot nicer than Karmas.
Karma being a lighter green, Rezs darker green with blue on the serades.
I can see probably another 6-8 males just on structure well see what the final outcome is here in a week.
On the others I started Doc’s. Sour star and sour cream.
Sour cream showed herself a fem.
1 Sour star a male, snipped
No show on Doc’s as yet.
Forward HO
The sourstars will be bred with Doc’s stud sensistar.
the best way to find out is ask the artist, sometimes they will let you use them with certain attribution
Another option is to get an artist to re-create the image’s concept but in their own style.
We do this all the time for music when an editor sets down a “temp” audio track that just works to damn well to remove… but we don’t have the rights so it’s re-worked by a composer
that works too!
So do either of you want to recreate this Fox and Skunk that may or may not be copyrighted so it can be used? I am no artist so this is beyond me.
Oh that’s a “Pigeonman Deligates someone who has the skill to do this” moment
If you change the picture at least 20% copy right does not apply, if you re create a picture as fan art and are not mass producing it for profit, copyright does not apply.
So if for instance you re position arm and put a pipe in the foxes mouth, add something to the skunk to change that part of the image you should be OK.
Edit, You added a hat and pipe so I would say the fox is good, just add something to skunky as well and you should be copyright clear.
Nice, thanks @Shadey. This stuff is out of my wheelhouse so I appreciate the info. Last thing I want to do is create some copyright issue.
Hey @Greyfox , what can we do to this skunk that you would be ok with?
I have been dealing with copyright stuff for years, people wanting someone elses pics painting on their bikes, crash hats, hockey masks and the like.
Usually if you contact the original artist if you can find them, all they want is some acknowledgement for their idea, some have just told me go for it and send me a pic when finished lol.
And you can also support the artist in by part by giving them credit for the source material.
I will reach out to them today.
where did you get this info? I think you are misinformed
Lots of different airbrushing web sites have the copyright law info on them as people are always asking questions about it. That’s where I got it from.
Edit. I have been painting over 30 years so things may have changed since I last looked.
please post a link to anywhere that says you can take a copyrighted image and change it 20% and it’s yours - I want to see that
Skunk needs a torch or lighter in his paw
I sent an email to the artist, will see what they say.
Here you can find royalty-free material (also handy for avatars), just have a look …
Thanks George
