Howdy @GMan , it’s great that you’re home already
.
IME, PT was the only thing that I really looked forward to. But unlike you, after my accident, I was in a wheelchair for over 6 months. Could not walk even with a walker or crutches.
The more you work at PT, the quicker you can lose the crutches.
Stay well and get stronger soon!
Thank you brother! I agree 100%. I asked for early therapy so we’ll see. It’s a mess right now.
I have it out of the boot cast while I’m at home and not doing much, so I can slowly exercise my ankle as it’s frozen up mostly. The original wound is still draining 3 1/2 weeks later. I may run down to the ER to get another dressing for it. It’s been swelling pretty good every time I put the boot on and get outside doing things. Hope it’s alright.
I’ll try and get a thread up for all of my pics. Maybe I’ll post some of my leg. It’s been hard gettin online much but I’ll be pushing through it all this week I hope. I still have almost 6 weeks before I even see the doc again. I should be starting therapy at that point at the worst, but I hope sooner. peace
graphite powder can work very well but it can be a little messy.
if a zipper is stuck closed, sometimes it works if you gently rub beeswax into the teeth of the locked up zipper and then slowly unzipping. the key is finding the right angle for your leverage, and not applying too much pressure.
These crutches are really testing me. I fell a few times in the last 2 days. There should be a better way. At least I got plants watered and fed.
something to show you friends when they are high. Take the armpit cushion off the crutch turn one of the ends inside out and put a dot on the center of the cushion you turned inside out. It looks like a rubber dick. lol I have had to use them for long periods of time
Yikes, ouch!
Maybe you should consider a walker until you are a little stronger. The walkers certainly provide more stability. I actually used a walker and then progressed to a cane because I could not get the hang of crutches.
I was deliriously happy to get out of the very safe wheelchair though!
I have only fallen twice since my recovery, about 5 1/2 years ago. Subsequently, I have become quite deliberate in all my standing up movements.
There are still “Top Shelf” selections. I was super impressed by one in particular called Krunkleberry. I think I paid $55 or $65 for a 1/2 oz. Not as good as my good old Home Grown in most cases. It’s so dry there that if you leave the top of your jar off for 30 min. your shit is dust!
Thanks @zephyr! I hope you’re well and staying respectfully high. I tried the wax and couldn’t budge it. Tried silicone spray no luck. I haven’t tried graphite powder. I’m going to. Take Care my friend.
Happy birthday my brother, may you have many decades more.
