Yeah, who knows? This is why gun control is good! There’s very few positives to unrestricted capitalism or gun ownership, and they go part and parcel together. At the very least, assault rifles should be all but outlawed and handguns should require mandatory background checks and yearly training classes at a range + mental health evaluations, especially for those which hold more than 6 rounds.
Also, to nobody in particular, castle laws are an odd byproduct of the illusion of “self defense.” Violence is violence, no matter how much capitalist trappings it’s wrapped in.
To conclude this rant, as for those nutjobs who brag about their assault rifles and instruments of war on pot forums, I lump them in with the people think they should legally be able to buy rocket launchers, claymores, and grenades. If they’re itching to kill people, go duke it out with the cartels south of the border. But please keep that tough guy braggart stuff off the forums - there’s plenty of other places around the internet to promote the cycle of hate.

Not “all but outlawed.” Outlawed. No “but” about it. And the politicians who accept money from the NRA should be “outlawed,” too. It’s fucking crazy to me that people will sit here and say,”Oh, gosh, we should really do something about mass shootings…” and then continue to vote for the people who take money from the NRA and have basically facilitated the proliferation of assault rifles. I guess because their guns are super-important to them? I’m not sure if people remember this, but there was a time when they WERE banned. Republicans in Congress let that ban lapse in like ‘96 or ‘97, somewhere around there. Do the math.
Yeah, that’s always struck me as very weird. “I got my gun, so come at me!” Like,”Really? You’re almost hoping for somebody to attack you, just so you can use your gun and shoot someone to death?” That’s fucking fucked-up… Maybe it’s from watching too many “action movies” or something, I dunno. But it’s pretty fucked-up.
Canada sure made it happen. They just put a cap on gun sales, and no reselling them, buyback on assault rifles. Just like that.
Our country doesn’t have the backbone, or the heart to do it. They can’t imagine living in a world of only single-shot guns. That’s all we ever had in the past!
That and making a waiting period of 7 days before purchase, at least. Most of these guys get pissed about something and take their anger out the same day with an assault rifle. That’s wrong. I better get out of here…
I have decided to not live in fear anymore. I’ve spent my life fearing cops and preachers. I let the loud mouthed, red neck, gun totin’ , meth headed, religious extremists cause me to live in fear and not leave my house! No more! I have a new sense of purpose.To do everything in my power to start conversations about banning assault rifles and other military style weapons from civilians. In Texas…that should keep me busy. It’s not a matter of “backbone,” it’s a matter of half the politicians in this country get their campaigns funded by the NRA. And people vote for them. It’s really very simple: you want corporate money and special interest money out of politics? Then donate to and vote for people who run grassroots campaigns. Vote for people who don’t take any corporate money. Like… This really couldn’t be any simpler.

No I don’t think I’ll be sounding off at the gun show that happens every other Saturday here! That’s where you buy guns no questions no background check and no registration. The parking lot is packed every time. No just when an opportunity presents itself. I’ve always avoided the topic because I was living in FEAR of these folks. No more!
