hummingbird feeders? I thought we were gardeners here 
I treat my birds right, no watered-down sugar here, they get 100% organic Fucschia and Torenia flower nectar

here are close-ups of the flowers - after years of testing, these are the best plants for flowering in shade - only 1-2 hours of sun per day is good…fuschia Gartenmeister and Torenia Summerwave Dark Violet

Those are cool. I actually have a good many flowers and vine flowers. But our weather is so fluky and I like to see them. They feed off all day and hit the feeder for morning “buzz” and evenings. They’re real sociable. Sort of funny sometimes and always amazing.
My neighbor said she has to take her feeder at night. Luckily no bear has attacked my feeder. It’s under a 9 ft. porch and out of sight. We have a lot of wildflowers this year, too. All of the cactus are blooming as well. Sunflowers are starting to bloom now. Little buggers have it made around here.
I’d like to read more about them. They seem like the same birds every year. Lots of the big ones do, too. I’m turning into a bird freak. With no TV, they provide lots of cool entertainment. ha.

Colorado’s got a lot more hummers than around here, more open areas for wildflowers to grow I think. I’ll never forget seeing tons of hummingbirds around my friend’s house in Routt Nat. forest near Steamboat, it was surrounded by a couple acres of wild columbine fields. Very cool moths at night too.
They’re cool little birds, they have tons of personality. They fly around and joust with each other in midair, you can hear a little click as they rack their beaks together. They’re fussy busybodies, they don’t even like bees on their flowers, you can watch 'em herd & chase individual bees off the flowers. they make little chirping noises when they get excited
There are less in my yard then last summer, I wonder about the family that was here. They have to fly all the way down to Central America from here, crossing the entire Gulf of Mexico in autumn. If they run into a tropical storms it’s game over. BTW sorry to hog your thread @oleskool830 I should start my own!

Just as I predicted. He was a good foot taller than anyone. Balls! Right on cue. Sadly it was one of the Willies.
