One stem with buds found wilted overnight along wiith black moldy part on base of stem?

possibly used too much verm ini the soil, could this be Fusarium? The rest of the plant seems ok but many fan leaf have tiny black spots only on the upper side and started to yellow plus some have burned tips, other than that it seems healthy with nice crystal buds, would it be safe to consume the rest of the plant iif it’s fusarium? Thanks for your input!

It’s either that or bud rot, most likely.
Obviously any affected branch is a goner. The plant looks like it has lots of spread out small buds, which could mean it can be contained for a little while. Use alcohol on a q-tip maybe, to disinfect spots on the stem. Watch it like a hawk- it could all go south in a hurry.
The rest of the plant should be okay, for now. May want to to soak the branches/buds in a hydrogen peroxide solution after you chop and before drying.

You could try treating the affected area with an H2O2 spray.

Remove the branch immediately.

It’s budrot or powdery mildew, you want to stop it propagating to the rest of the plant. I’d lightly clean the area with some soapy water as well.

I see black rotten nodes on one of the main stalks, but i would say 95% of the buds on the plant look perfectly healthy and clean… can i get away with a hydrogen peroxide wash for the healthy looking buds or has this shit gone too far?

If i opened all stems and look iinside, could i keep the buds attached to any clean to the eye (non moldy looking) and wash with hydrogen peroxide? Or am i still risky?

Is it possible to use quantitative strips to check the buds for mycotoxins before consumption?

Check the buds with a UV light at night. I suspect they may be ok. Those look like borer damage but i dont see the tell tale hole they drill.

Thanks i will check them, meanwhile i freaked out and harvested the parts that where a bit more distant from the blackened nodes and checked inside the stems, all seem clean, Wouuld it be considered safe to consume distant buds on branches, say 10cm+ from the nifected node, given the interior of the stems and buds all seem super clean? Base of mani stem looks ok as well

Nearby plants have no black internodes, only little black spots like in this photo and something very lightly dark on one of the stems:

Ok so now there are some flies going in and out of the main stalk where i chopped… some more closeups of the nodes as well

The buds all seem perfectly healthy so i am pretty confused to say the least

I’d spray anything looking like that with HCOL and monitor it. If it pops up anywhere else spray again.

Looks like stemrot to me buddy which is systemic so any clones are now gna be useless and you will likely need to deep clean and sterilise.

Does that mean all buds can be infectetd??? :sob: :poop:

The buds shud be ok, check carefully for any signs of mould, if its towards the end of the harvest you can try and support any mushy or soft parts of the stem and treat or just harvest eqrly if necessary, if there is any signs of mould in the bud you CAN carefully remove but i personally dont risk smoking on mouldy weed as mould spores can seriously damage lungs. Keep an eye on RH and qirflow and also consider a hepa filter

Just to clarify (incase you are not aware and to avoid any confusion) stem rot and bud rot are two diff things, you said the buds seemed ok and that should be the case if its stemrot, if its early on they wont likely have enough health and vitality to complete harvest as the stem problem will affect nute uptake and plant health, if its late on you can limp it home and the buds shud be fine but as mentioned just to be sure check thoroughly

It’s Fusarium. A root disease that blocks the passage of water and nutrients from the stem. You’ll see one branch at a time wither and die. It especially affects flowering plants. Remedies? A solution of baking soda or nettle, or microrhiza. But it’s the most difficult disease to combat.
