I added the Dragon Temple a couple days before flower. I cut the bottom of the 1 gallon and mounded the soil around.
Soil Mix:
1.5 cubic feet Stonington Blend
1.5 gallon Rice Hulls
1.5 gallon Pumice
1.25 gallons Castings (Wiggle Worm)
1.5 cups Silica Amendment (Montana Grow)
4 tablespoons Insect Fras (Build-a-soil)
2 tablespoons Craft Blend (Build-a-soil)
Great White used at transplant
I might skip the craft blend in the mix and top dress it next time.
Once a week I’ve watered in Yah-Whey and some liquid karma after any stress (transplant, large defoliation).
Top dressed Fishbone Meal and Castings on F1 and F14.
I’m still smoking on the Dragon Temple as it yielded so well and it is one of my favorite day time smokes. I killed the clones of my favorite DT and I’m flowering the mother, so that earthbox will have to be revegged.
This is my 3rd time using one of the earthboxes and 2nd time using another. I took out about 3 gallons of soil per earthbox and added it to my soil mix for all my pots and reamended the earthboxes with my new soil mix.
I added some Big 6 micros, Yah Whey and Gnatrol to my water 2 weeks ago.
This is the one I selected form my last grow. People who I gave it to really loved this one.
Story time… my wife’s friend (works at a dispensary) gave a joint to her boss and he offered my wife a job at the dispensary. Sounds ridiculous, but he liked the rift so much he wants my wife to work part time. He never met my wife, just from smoking the joint… Alien rift the get you a job weed…
I don’t smoke it often because it sedates me too much. I prefer more mind stimulating strains, but after years of growing, it is my wife’s favorite strain. Many other people who I give it to get talkative/social, happy, excited, with some crash at the end. It gives people the “helmet effect.” Helps some with migraines and anxiety.
I finally took a bud pic today and here is the plant from my last grow.
The Alien Rift has some distorted growth on the tips still. The original plant from seed did this and the clone sometimes… maybe it is just hungry or the way it is mad at something.
Aliens and Milk
This one and the other plant in my 4x4 fight me to bush out. They both want to just go up up up. Topping helped a lot and the scrog net. Frost on these pretty early around F18.
I gave them a heavy water this morning. I’ve been watering a little bit every day with a heavy water every 3-4 days. I might do 1 more top dress of some fish bone meal and castings on F28. Other then that, water only except some yah whey and/or liquid karma a couple more times.
haha. sort of. We got some stuff going on this week and next, so she told him end of February she will talk about schedule and stuff. It’s not a bad gig around here… something like 18-20$ an hour for retail plus some tips. A shift or two wouldn’t be bad.
Rainbow Chip (middle right)
This one has quite a few orange/discolored pistils already. Only on some of the tops. I don’t see any pollen sacs or nanners, nor any hairs discolored on the lowers… so something I will keep an eye out for.
I think it’s from me lifting the pots, I have to be more careful and not touch the buds. Eventually I will get tired of pot lifting and get some moisture meters or hook up some automation…
Pinball Wizard (back right)
Wrapped her up so she stops leaning on the others. I should have put in bamboo poles or something for it… I think I mention it every week, but this plant is doing extremely better this run. She doesn’t drink a lot, probably half as much as all the other plants.
Lemon Jeffery (middle back)
It’s the only plant in a 5 gallon. I was worried it would get shadowed and lost in the back, but it up a lot of size in 4 weeks.
Strawberry Temple 3 (middle):
I am kind of annoyed the middle plant is labeled #3 and not #2, but it’s how I have my clones labeled. Now I have the problem, do I write the journal as the plants 1,2,3 or front, middle, and back?? haha
Guess I’ll have to relabel the clone for next week.
Strawberry Temple 2 (back):
This is still my favorite so far. Smells great. I think this is close to what is described in the strain description: " big sticky wizard wands of orange bubblegum inspiration". It is sticky as heck and smells like orange bubblegum, so check and check. Hopefully it keeps these smells late flower and in the final product. It is starting to get a little funky on the backend.
These leaves are much broader then the other two, so maybe something to look for if I pop the rest of the pack.
I top dressed all the plants some more fishbone meal and castings on F28 and watered in some Yah-Whey; that’s the last time I will use the Yah-Whey. Next week I plan to water in some liquid karma.
I’m puffing on one of the Cherry Chem Sodas today. It’s nice and relaxing with pain relief. Have a good day all.
Dragon Temple:
A late edition to the tent. It was in a 1 gallon, I cut out the bottom and added it to the earthbox 3-4 days before flower. Happy I did as the Aliens and Milk it is sharing with didn’t like spreading out.
Smoking on some Pinball Wizard today. It’s nice. I didn’t get a lot, 75-80 grams between 2 plants, but I still have a decent amount left. Time to burn through it in prep for my next harvest.
Thanks. I feel like the environment plays a big role. A lot of air movement and not a super high VPD keeps them happy.
I am not 100% sure what you mean by natural nutrients, but the only bottled products I’ve used are Yah-Whey (kefir, aminos, LAB), and liquid karma (kelp, aminos, b-vitamins). I use the liquid karma at high stress times (transplant and defoliations) and the Yah-Whey once every 10 days-2 weeks. Everything else is top dress and in the soil.
Strawberry Temple:
This is only of the back left one because it is my favorite. Top leaves are curling. not sure why, maybe the fan I turned towards it…
I overwatered a bit today. I went back in and saw one or two plants sitting in a little water… not happy about that, but I vacuumed it up now. I lowered the humidity in the tent and increased the temperature a little to hopefully force them to drink a little more before lights out.
I’m smoking on some Dragon Temple today. I haven’t puffed on it in a few days and it doesn’t take a lot to get me where I want. I saw some of the Temple V2 seeds on headiegardens but I told myself no more seeds haha… There are some things I really want to get through before I grab more.
I wanted to update the whole tent, but it is a lot of pictures, so just a big pic drop today and then I will go back to updating 3-4 plants at a time.
Only thing of significance is I think I see some male parts on my big Strawberry Temple. I have a closeup of it… it’s not a yellow nanner, it looks like a stamen. Anyways, it will be down in the pics.
First the 3x3:
Alien Rift left
Aliens and Milk right
Dragon Temple front right
I think that’s it. I have my next set of plants getting ready for my next flower cycle. I’m going to keep an eye on that Strawberry Temple as I was planning to run it again. The other 2 strawberry temples don’t seem like worth running again… so I’ll probably end up running an Aliens and Milk, Alien Rift (of course), and maybe the Rainbow Chip if my male:female ratio on my next batch isn’t great.
Time to smoke on some dragon temple and do a little workout. have a good one.
Today is an update of the Alien Rift (Ocean Grown Seeds) and 2x Aliens and Milk (Strayfox) plants.
These are in 2 earthboxes in my 3x3 and one Aliens and Milk is in a 7-gallon in the 4x4.
3x3:
Alien Rift left
Aliens and Milk right
Dragon Temple front right (this one is a little hungry… seems more time to establish roots would have been better, but I have plenty of pics of it on my other journal)
Aliens and Milk:
This one is more orange and vibrant green. It didn’t stack as well as the other Aliens and Milk in the 7-gallon, but lots of frost and nice sour musky smells… If I have room next grow I am planning on giving this one another flower cycle.
I mentioned last week I might have seen some male parts on the Strawberry Temple, but it was just pointy calyxes. Pistils came out and no male parts to be seen anywhere… phew.
Thanks for looking and I’ll update the Strawberry Temples in a couple days.
