Operation fuck cancer grow

As Nagel said, amend and reuse.
I have a 200L (50G) Rubbermaid bin in the garage full of last year’s soil and roots being reprocessed by worms. I amend with rock-dust, dandelions (for calcium) etc.
By next spring it will be great.

Cheers
G

Do we have a special day we all release our dirt on?!

I’m going to try that washing technique come harvest time, sounds like exactly what I need. I’ve got a little compost tumbler I think I’m going to put the old dirt in

Doh! EARTH DAY!

Little compost tumbler is perfect for the task.

The wash, its wierd dunking your freshly harvested buds in a bucket of water, I’m not gonna lie. But I’ve seen the crap thats left behind, and haven’t experienced any bud rot as a result, the taste of the nugs is amazing. Outside its a must, but even inside (I have white covers on my carbon filters, you ever see how dirty they get with just dust in the air?) so I wash inside as well…

Probably was the hash thread that got me thinking about how many environmental contaminants are in even “pristine” looking bud.

12 days old an thriving! :seedling::green_heart:

Going to be switching over to my veg fert on the next water. I read molasses is good for the soil at all stages, I’ve been using a diluted mix. We finally had some rain! I caught as much as I could and have been watering with that. Between all of then it seems to be working for now :crossed_fingers:

looking awesome, heather! how’s your mite issue coming along?

your outdoor plants are looking gorgeous and lush. i’m envious of your ability to grow outdoors. i still love seeing that leopard print on your planters.

it seems like you’re getting close to harvest. those last few weeks really test my patience. but i just tell myself to hold on and wait. you don’t want to spoil all these months of work by chopping too early.

are the black cream and lilac festival seedlings part of your second grow? are you planning on popping any more?

@highminwin

Still fighting them but I got the colony a little smaller. Definitely still damaging the plants though :sob:

They are about nine weeks flower now. All are doing good expect the ssdd. It’s like drying itself on the stem, getting a hay smell. So I pulled it from the tent, put a bag over it. I’ll give it a couple days before cutting it. I have no idea why it’s doing that, my guess would be the bugs?

Yes the two autos are my second grow! Marshydro sent me a tent through a Twitter sponsorship, I couldn’t resist putting something new in there lol I do want to start more, I’ve got to look through my seeds and find what autos I have. Once I harvest I’ll do more photos in the first tent!

i see the photos of your ssdd. the leaf tips look like possible nute burn, also since it looks like the tips of all the leaves are developing it sort of evenly. i’m still quite inexperienced though, so take that with a grain of salt.

i can’t imagine how much flower you’ll have once your outdoor plants get done.

The outside girls have begun flowering, I’m so excited to see how they produce! They are completely busting out of the hoop house already, barely started their stretch lol Dad is really excited to try the first buds. Very soon now!

yes that’s excellent to hear, heather! do you have your curing plan in place yet? i had a really nice cola which was my first harvest that i sort of rushed in curing. the smoke from it has been pretty good. but i started smoking some later buds which i cured more slowly and gently, and i’m really enjoying that! i’m not sure whether it was the slower cure or those particular buds were younger at harvest or whatnot, but there’s a noticeable difference.

I gotta figure out where to dry it all before worrying about curing lol I know you’re supposed to do it slowly an open the jar daily but beyond that I’ve gotta research an figure something out :exploding_head:

Does this look ready? Are the trichomes still to light?

I bought 4 of these for this year

or you could just run some lines and leave a lower branch on the shoots and hang them on the lines from that lower branch

looks done to me, I like to take them when 5-10 % amber the rest cloudy and a few clear that’s my preference really depends on the strain

That was was I figured. Now that I’ve seen how the other two look when they finished I kind of get the idea.

Going to take two more down today :raised_hands:

I’ve got to take a closer look at the last two to see if they’re done or not

good job getting here, heather! you can also take your buds at different stages of “readiness”, and then smoke test them to see what you and your pops like best. you might prefer different things. it’s almost time to celebrate, oh yea! :champagne: :stuck_out_tongue: :fireworks:
