Soooo I had completely giving up on this fabulous hulk. They all were planted on 8/9 an nothing happened. I put it on the bottom of a plant stand, no water, barely light. I went to pour the dirt out today an finally noticed it :flushed: I’m honestly impressed

@highminwin check out this sunflower! Easily 7th tall an still growing :astonished:

Already have harvested a bucket of seeds from them

You should add a Mexican sunflower or two

I had them in the veggie garden last summer. Thought it was supposed to be a multi flowered sunflower / single stalk thing. NOPE. They each became 6’ x 6’ bushes, LOADED with little orange sunflowers (size / shape of a black eyed susan flower, but orange petals / yellow center). I collected seeds last year, planted em, and tried to make a temporary hedge along the front yard, but the drought here the past month has kinda stunted that.

Great plant to grow, lots of color and flowers, but it PAYS to know the growth pattern!

I dont have much luck with your sunflowers. Oh they grow and they grow well, but at 3’ tall the deer start thinking of them as buffet tables. One year they topped ALL the sunflowers I had at the fence line of my garden. 4’ top rung, 4’1" tall plants afterwards… Yet the neighbor up the street just tosses them in road-side, and gets 10’ tall mammoths with 12"+ wide flowers! Why do the deer like ME more???

First jarred plant baby! It ain’t much but it’s a start! That poor ssdd being so dry to begin with that already the small stems snapped. I decided to jar her before loosing anymore moisture. I’m so proud of myself :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

See how easy that was? (giggle)

when you chop the outside girls, there’s gonna be a little more work LOL

You’ve got that right! I don’t even know where I’m going to dry the outside girls yet lol

I’m smoking a couple of the popcorn buds. I was super worried it would taste gross based on the over dry hay smell it had but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a nice fruity taste and a pretty decent high. Seems like it’s going to be great when curred :raised_hands:

Congratulations Heather, nice job!
And sorry, but now you’re hooked!

The curing process. I think thats the hardest part. Or the easiest, depending on how. But you wanna maintain that 60% RH as long as possible to eliminate that hay (chlorophyl) smell / taste and let it break down. Let the terpenes develop. Once the bud drops below like 55% RH, the chlorophyll no longer breaks down (process stops) and then its hay tasting bud. But too high of an RH and you get mold, so its that tightrope walk really…

Tents make GREAT curing chambers… Just saying!!!

You should get a few small digital hygrometers for your jars. @Heather420

(Edited) Wow was I late to the party or what!? Congrats on your 1stharvest!!!

Remember–the fans are what photosynthesize the water, nutes and light for the plant to make the buds and terpenes etc… don’t remove anything more than what might block light from the buds until they are almost ray to harvest (JMHO)

Two more jarred! I pulled out a few popcorn buds for dad to try early. He really enjoyed the blueberry 🥹. Three more plants still drying, two mysteries an a trex

I’m itching to get more started lol I know I should probably keep the old tent empty to dry the outside plants in. Maybe I’ll start some more autos for the new tent instead

Was it unwise of me to only start one of each auto seeds? I recently learned that autos can be males, I don’t know why I assumed that they were all fem

Looks like a decent haul yes autos can be male all depends on how they were made.
