I can confirm from the 2 cobbs iā€™ve tried that the terps are outstanding and the smoke smooth.

The first cobb was made from ā€œPole Dancerā€ and a gift from @MissinBissin who turned me onto the technique. I waited a whole year before cracking open the vacuum bag and wow did the entire top floor of the house become nice and fragrant even thought it looked like a brown dog turd.

Iā€™m thinking of lifting the RH% of some of my current dried stash and doing another round of cobbing as my 1st experience making them and the resulting sample is superb. :ok_hand:

So it can be done with oh say a jar or so of fresh bud or fresh cut plants?

My understanding is ideally a few days from cut. You want ā€œlive flowerā€; so my attempt down the road is gonna be an experiment.

Iā€™ll pull 28g of each plant, lift it up to 63% RH and then make 2x 14g cobbs each.

If it fails itā€™s not a big loss, but if itā€™s fantastic than at least I made 2!

Good luck with that brother. If youā€™re unsure of your testing, Iā€™m not too far away.

Great experiment @Pigeonman, I like the idea of re-elevating the RH

One item that is specified in those instructionsā€¦ is of using a specific Volume of Bud, before the 1st sous-vid Sweat. ie: 1-2 0z perā€¦

in reality, your just scaling them Down a bit, so it should Not have an impact. I made and sweated 2oz cobbs, then at inspection, (tween sweat 1 and long brew) I broke them in half and re-wrapped as 1oz cobbs, and carried-on with part 2, long n low.

Best Wishes Buddy

Iā€™m bringing the outdoors indoorsā€¦

The frost hasnā€™t hit hard enough to kill of the nettle yet so Iā€™m making a winter batch of organic tea!

First I gotta get all my shit together in one place.

Canā€™t forget the bungees cords!

Washed and chopped nettles in a bucket.

Top off with filtered water and stirred; also poked back down under the water with a big spoon. :spoon:

I then wrap the heat mat around the bucket, the section of silver insulation bubble wrap around the mat, and then the towel around the whole thing all held together with bungee cords.

I got the probe just above the waterline and off around 2 inches from the heat mat which should have the intended effect. The thermostat is set to 23c so Iā€™m expecting it to float around there as the mat only covered 1/2 of the bucket.

The lid is on loosely to hold in place and not over pinch the probes cord, and to hold in the heat while allowing gases to escape.

I have carboys and air locks where this will end up and stored for winter use.

I had this idea the other day. LMK what yā€™all think.

Pmanā€™s compost pile plant this past season wasnā€™t a fluke. by that I mean, Iā€™ve often heard about guys having volunteers pop up in heaps and really thump effectively unattended.

@Pigeonman since your beds are getting amended and resting next year, how about sticking an old mother in your pile and seeing what happens? itā€™s just a giant free container, no?

Cheese Mountain, anyone?

I hope someone here tries it.

I like it @noknees but part of my plan is to empty said heap into those beds as part of their healing.

Iā€™ve also decided to make a gazebo out of cedar Iā€™ll need to address cutting back up north in the spring.

The idea is to create an open walled 12 x 8 space that will have an angled roof with either clear roof panelling or plastic weatherproof tarp material. This means Iā€™ll be prob taking out 2 of my raised beds where the :broccoli: goes to do this. In that space I still plan on having 2-4 fabric pots as the whole point is to have direct rain cover to battle climate change as each sept/oct has gotten wetter and wetter every year over the past 5 years.

As a bonus I have some gutter material that i will add to the mix allowing for more rain collection closer to said plants.

Down the road I could turn this into a greenhouse with an exhaust fan and such.

So what you are saying is by next winter it will be a greenhouse with exhaust fan and such!:+1::sunglasses:

The neighbours tossed a retro table out in perfect condition so the cats now have another thing to climb in and upon.

Itā€™s made of particle board and thin fake veneering so itā€™s gonna melt after a few seasons but itā€™ll be worth it for the cats to have some additional places to bunker come this winter season.

I was having too much fun and I didnā€™t take any pictures today.

Last week while doing some yard-work I noted that the Limed-Orange still had remaining flower still viable for use this season. I pulled off all the flowers, washed them and then after 4 days of drying the weigh in came out to 60g of 63% RH buds.

So whatā€™s a guy to do who already has a flower problem but to make 4x 15g cobbs!

Tomorrow at 10am theyā€™ll be done the 24hr 40C hot air bath in the dehydrator and if all is well will then sit for a week in the incubator now on the bar as cobbing is gonna become a regular thing. :ok_hand:
