These are on two different outdoor plants.
What causes this?

Looks like perhaps too hot/ too intense light.
They’ll usually curl up to conserve moisture. Those extra kinks are just from the way it’s curling up I believe.

It’s just in some plant’s genetics, too. I have SSDD’s that do it naturally. I’ve seen/had other strains do it, too. I think your plants look good

Those extra kinks could be dryness of the air too. Hot and dry weather maybe? I agree they look great though, so water them as they wish and you’ll see. Nice plant btw
