I’ve been experimenting with Overgrow as a mobile app for a while now, and I must say the user experience has improved. Finally, Apple has allowed push messages, but unfortunately, they don’t get delivered on time for me. Still, it has some benefits and feels more like an app than a website.
To be clear, it’s not a native mobile app – it’s something called a PWA (Progressive Web Application). Hopefully, both Google (Android) and Apple (iOS) will continue to actively develop their support, and over time PWAs could reach the same level of user-friendliness as native apps.
Small plug: the PWAs for things like Gmail and Google Docs are awesome. Many people like the “old school” feel of having some stuff not as “just another tab” in the browser. Works so awesome on desktop/mac.
It’s by far the best layout I have used on mobile. At first i was kinda lost but after a few weeks the ease of navigation and control offers way more than a regular forum.
