I play in a band call The Grateful Talking Dead Heads every now and then that does a big dead/talking heads tribute and it’s a ton of fun! I am definitely into the jam scene though lol. I went to school for Jazz though so I get into a little bit of everything! We just did Me and My Uncle on the last gig too lol.

I think its still looking pretty nice now man!

That sounds Ike fun for sure. Talking Heads were great. I love music, but can do without hanging around musicians, because of my parents. Haha Live music is the best for sure. There are still some cool shows in drivable spots for me, but the prices hurt. Felt like a steal seeing Steve Forbert for $25, but shit, what happened to $5 or $10 covers?? Haha

The Dead are a funny one for me, because my mom was into them and saw them in the 60s and 70s, but then she got into other music and whatnot. My dad went hard into that 80s movement that created the Deadheads and whatnot. Seemed lame to me to be a fanboy/groupie of a fat lazy junkie or any musician for that matter. I got dragged to plenty of shows from the 80s to Jerry’s death. Haha. At least he took me to a bunch of other cool shows and festivals as a kid. Saw some cool bands open for The Dead too. I need to see if they still do the festival at Doc Watson’s farm. That would be a fun trip.

Yea it’s a fun mashup of stuff for sure! And I feel like anything your parents try to get you into never works out lol. Us musician can be a lot to hang around but were fun at least  I can’t go out with everyone too much after the gigs cause then I’m out closing down the late night bars and my wife is less than happy with me being out so late lol.But see and most of the spots here in KC are still $5-10 cover or no cover a lot of spots too for local bands. I never understood the fan boy/groupie mentality either though and I’m not a fan haha. That’s why I like playing bass cause I can hide in the back more and don’t have to deal with as many people lol. Definitely cool you got to see so many cool shows coming up though!

Looks great! You have so much biodiversity…vs your neighbors look boring AF

Mulch is so hard cause you got to constantly spend that $ to make it nice

I don’t think I’m ever going to stop thinking of Dead songs with Byrne singing and influence. Jerry in a big ass suit. Haha

Yeah, my neighbors don’t do shit and after the winter most of the ones who had anything pulled it or never replaced it. Just boring ass green grass and, luckily, most don’t know how to take care of that either. Haha

Once the whole yard is covered, that’s it for mulch. In a few years I’ll make pathways with stones and then some sort of ground cover for everywhere besides the walkways. Need stuff to grow for awhile first.

I can come and build you a kick ass fire pit…:grinning::grinning::grinning:

That would be badass for sure. I’d love it, but not sure I’ll have much space once everything grows some more. I was trying to find an area for a pool, but I don’t see it. Plus, I don’t want to take care of a pool ever again. My mom is obsessed though. Haha

There’s a cool spot a bit from me that has all sorts of yard art. In a year or two I’m going to get some pieces from there to make things fun. Haha

Veggie stir fry with yellow curry sauce and I made some rice. Looking at getting camping gear to start going on the weekends and whatnot. Preparing for Merlefest next year. Lots of sites seem kind of shitty though. Haha. Off for a bike ride.

Cruised on the bike too far away off the road and once the battery starts getting low, I guess it gives way less boost and you have to pedal. Had just taken a shower and got stoned before I went out. Now I’m soaked in sweat and my legs are feeling it. Have to pay attention to that battery meter. Haha

Found some spots you can hike into the forest and camp on the river and whatnot though. Just need to get some equipment and start doing that until I get attacked by something or someone out there. Haha
