Does anyone know how to add a speed controller to a series of 3 or 4 PC case fans? I have a power supply from an old printer & see some quiet fans but want to be able to adjust their flow. (Max RPM may irritate the #^$%&^& out of me).
The easiest by far is this, or similar doohickey from ebay for about 3 bucks. That’s the route I’d go. Pretty decent way to control a DC motor.

Otherwise if you have an adjustable power supply you can dial down the voltage
Happy’s $0.02
Literally just get a case fan controller like happy says bro. Wire that to a 12v driver and away
Arctic are really good for sound too

Have a link
I used to be a network admin until I abandoned everything except web-browsing & email…so this is a bit embarassing but also very cool. I felt like an old man when I got a new CPU fan & saw all these fancy freon & raditator cooling systems. kids these days…
thanks @anon58740919, @HappyHemper
No danger sir. Anytime
I use one of these connected with terminal blocks and cheap speaker wire to the fans
A variable voltage wall adapter
For all my needs im using these bad boys
But if is going to be a fan regulator purposes , those small things can be fitting anywhere even inside the power supply enclosed, 5 for less than 5 bucks, the only problem is the waiting time
So I can deduce from all of this that voltage is what determines the fan speed(within limits)?
Because I have a variable ac/dc(1A) wall adapter… i.e. 1,3,5,9,12
That’s possibly the easiest way. Hook it up to that and switch it to 9,5,3 and see the speed slow down.
I’m super old school, I use an old 100 Ohm potentiometer on my fans.
damn, thats one sexy fan controller.
