Anyone know what bug this is.
It starts as neat rows of white silk-ish blobs on the stem. The picture below shows a very advanced infestation.
Someone once told me they are cut worms, but that does not seem to be correct…
This is OD in Arizona.
For some unknown reason I think the bug that makes these could be a soil dweller.
Thanks,
PS, I will post additional pics if/when I find more examples.

Looks like some aphid bs architecture
Mealy bugs leave that fuzzy crap behind them… those suck…

Could be nymphs of a flatid plant hopper, or mealy bugs… we would need clearer pics to make a valid observation. Yet it doesn’t matter what it is, it shouldn’t be there, so kill it

I will try and get a better sharper pic tonight.
I have definitely seen leafhoppers on the plants so that would make sense.
Isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip, or do I give them the finger of God? (Smoosh)

zoomed in it almost looks like a fungus or mold. I’d probably just wipe it off for now. Looks like the plant is almost done anyway.

That particular plant was just a stunted auto cull that I stuck outside instead of chopping since it was female. But some of these are showing up on some of my actual outdoor crop. The one I care about.

haha, lol, the smoosh of fingliness will suffice, but the iso q-tipulation will better ensure their absolute demise

dang. well I’m no help, but I hope its an easy fix or mostly harmless.
Chances are wooly aphids, or whiteflies.
Need a closer photo.

Since I’m over problems I vote for both!
I have white fly all the time on outside tomatoes and peppers they are always under the leaf, never on the stem.
Thinking maybe mealy bugs or a fungus

I agree @Slammedsonoma420 . Not my first choice.

I would go for a fungus: oidio, hope it’s easy to ged rid of …

With a clearer picture, we would be able to discern whether this was a winged bug in the one section, or if this was a bug and some eggs in this other area

Can’t quite seem to get my phone to perfectly focus on it, but this was the best I could do.
I will keep taking pics and posting here as I come across it further.
This has attacked outdoor crops in past seasons as well…

Might be white scale. Or white mealy as mentioned earlier.
Remove and dispose of offending branch.

This is mealybugs. Definitely in the soil and all tiny crevices. Insecticide soap works great. Fairly easy to kill the ones you see.
You may find like cotton puffs in your bud when you break it up. Looks similar to mold, but turns red if you crush it.
