Peyote Purple: A very recessive trait of Bubba Kush!
Lineage assume to be
S1 of pre98 Bubbs x (Katsu Bubba S2)
or
S2 of Bubba Kush
It is really a kush plant that has big fan leaves on branches, slow growth on growing shoots due to big fan leaves covering lights from the shoots. Small yielding plant for sure but this is truly a unique plant when it starts flowering. Leaves start curling when they start forming flowers. It is not necessarily due to overfeeding because feeding was the same from the beginning of the flowering light schedule to the actual period they start forming flowers. However, the structure is just beautiful. If you don’t mind about yield or low aroma but looking for unique and appealing looking plants, this is the must cultivar!
It started forming flowers from mid to end of wk3 flowering. The rest of the process will be updated on the topic and any question is welcome!
End of week4 since light flipped.
Leaves curl crazy a lot but it just looks gorgeous and reminds me of the jungle.
Left Peyote Purple #8 and right Peyote Purple #9.
Peyote Purple Compact-claw pheno, this one has more colouration smaller flower, huge ass fan leaves and it started having black colouration on very few leaves. Heading to the end of wk 7 flowerings!
Peyote Purple is getting closer to the end of week8!
Compact pheno looks ready to harvest but will do on week9. Stretch pheno, will take longer time tho!
They ended well and are currently in a drying tent!
Will make a brief smoke report after the smoke test but seems like that require quite a long drying time
Smoke Report
Peyote Purple #8 had a really strong liquorice smell and taste as well. As it gets dried longer sweet taste comes out more but still, liquorice dominates. High was really heady than I expected but mild and nice heady. It is not like haze head high just mild light feelings on the head.
Peyote Purple #9 also had a liquorice smell but it was more of kush-ness but in an unpleasant way. High was similar to peyote #8
Final impression
Overall, the smoke was disappointing to me. Besides insane bag appeal and quite a strong potency, it yields low and smoke is nothing interesting, like 0 interest. Bag appeal S+ quality tho.
However, for growing wise, it is definitely an interesting seed-line. So much fun while growing this line. Quite a challenge to yield well. I personally think SOG type suits Peyote Purples rather than topping and SCORG type of growing.
