Phattys Grow Diaries (Bodhi Sakura, F2'd by Nube) (Chemdawg 4)

Its been an interesting 2 weeks that’s for sure, wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy…They swear I’ll be jumping out of planes in a year…which is weird because I didn’t jump out of planes before the surgery…side effect? In all seriousness though, I’m already starting to be able to put weight on it…I should be able to do some 1 gallon pots on the next run, about the max weight for several months :frowning: I could always SOG!

This is an amusing thread, and I always enjoy stopping by.

My right hip is fake.

Having been hit by a car necessitated that I undergo two hip surgeries.
Two because the first attempt (ORIF) to fix my hip failed. However, due to the second procedure
(total hip replacement) I can now walk without any pain and carry on with virtually everything I need to do. I can’t really run any more (my opposing tibia fibula fixed with ORIF), just basically trot, but I can’t complain. I had the hip replaced in July ‘16. I could not really walk for more than a year, and certainly not without any pain.
So…
The odds are that you will recover much more quickly than I.
Do at least as much as your PT advises- very important.

I was using small containers for my grows before my car encounter, and now I use tiny containers mostly…less than ¾ gallon, the largest I use are 2 gallon. Super easy for me to move around, I can carry 3 or 4 at a time no sweat.

Thanks for dropping in @Calyxander that means a lot as you’re pretty much a legend and all! It’s crazy how little pain I’m experiencing over the last few days, even stupidly showered by myself already…hands down the most stressful shower I ever took…I know for sure there has to be some decent looking home health care workers to come sponge bath me…Tae Kwan Do is probably over for me…but again haven’t worked out in 20+ years so no big loss… I tell you what I certainly have a knack at finding silver linings…having gone through it, you know the mental misery that kicks in if you don’t… figure 2 more weeks of assisted walking with the walker, then a few months on the cane and hopefully things work out…fingers crossed

Chemdawg 4 Day 32Flower

Since I seem to have overdone things since the hip surgery I have some crazy pain and swelling so I’m stuck in bed for a week…so last pics for a bit, I’ll be extremely bored so I’ll be lurking in all the threads! I also have plans for a cab and will need input there as I’ll be growing lil plants that I can manage and move around myself with the weight restrictions I’m on…buying Quarts instead of Gallons…living alone shows it’s disadvantages when ill that’s for sure  Anyways, solid growth the last few days, figured it was worth capturing for my own enjoyment

After my accident, I became quite proficient at binge watching a variety of TV series,
Never even considered it before I was hurt.
It really helped pass the time, which is needed to recover.

Here is a short list of what I found to be very engaging, entertaining series.
I also agree that Schitt’s Creek is very amusing.

The Wire
The Sopranos
Fleabag
Bosch
Goliath
Travelers
Glitch
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
The Good Wife
The Good Fight
Friday Night Lights
Parenthood
Weeds
The Sinner (1st season)
Deadwood
You’re The Worst
Ray Donovan
Killing Eve
(short list)

Getting well takes a little time after hip replacement. You should be receiving some PT which will assist in speeding up your recovery.

Best of luck…be good.

Most TV series are real shit by season 3…that said I mostly enjoyed…

Burned
The Glades
Weeds
Daredevil

The movie ‘Master and Commander’ was a good watch. The books are far better. As would be the Hobbit and LotR and Game of Thrones. Up to 5 can’t recommend watching the latter.

I don’t watch a lot of tv tho…mostly enjoy a few college sports.

Yes!

Fuck yes!

I like digging into documentaries and things like that too…

Just watched the Bundy Tapes last night and it was pretty good… the Netflix also has their new Ted Bundy movie with Zac Efron that I can’t say is terrible either…
