Photoperiod question

My plants are in early bloom phase. I want to keep the photoperiod at 18/6 for another 2 weeks. Is that safe, or should I switch the photoperiod to 12/12 earlier?
Thanks in advance!

Depends on size of growing area and amount of flower you want

It will be fine. You will just have bigger plants.

You gotta give more info… I usually veg for about six weeks before I switch to 12/12. If they are slow growers I’ll veg longer, if growing too fast I’ll switch sooner.

Thanks for the replies!
II_medical, I have enough space. The plants can reach 150cm safely. The lights are 720w LEDs. They’re only 2.5 months old, and I didn’t expect the early bloom.
You give them 6 weeks in veg state while pistils are showing?

Are you just seeing a pistol or two, or are you seeing clumps? Mine will sometimes show a pistol or two in veg, but they’re not necessarily flowering yet.

Btw, guess I should ask, are these reg photos or autos. I never grew autos, but from what I gather when they’re ready to bloom, ya cant stop them.

It’s full of pistills. It’s not an auto strain, so I was surprised that it started flowering on its own

The first photograph shows the Kush on 16/8 with Vero’s.

The second photograph is the Kush switching to 12/12.

The third photograph shows the first week of flower under Vero’s on 12/12.

The 4000K Vero’s are too powerful, she was very sad underneath just one.

Cheers!

Wonderful gardening mate, the plant looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
At the risk of sounding noob, can you please tell me what are Vero’s?
Also, did you fim the Kush?

Vero’s are COB’s made by Bridgelux, they are amazing. Even the EB3 Slims are no joke, all of my luminaires are built with Bridgelux.

I topped the Kush once, no FIM technique. Slight LST from veg to flower, slowly defoliating for another week or two.

She likes it hot, ~88°F.

One of the plants turns out to be an auto strain. It’s already flowering. Can I keep it in vegetative state for a few more weeks, or is it time for 12/12?

The more light the better with autoflowers so I would do 18/6 or 16/8 but can go all the way up to 24/0. Also I’ve had success with starting autos under 18/6 then when they flower I moved to my female tent under 12/12 with no issues just takes a little longer to finish. But to answer your question you can throw any light cycle at autoflowers and they will do their thing

Hi good fellows! I have an issue. The plants are in early flowering, and there are white spots on some of the leafs.
What does it mean?
Thanks in advance!

They look hungry/possibly nute lockout due to oh. It looks like either pests or magnesium deficiency.

Thanks for the reply!
The spots appeared a few days after I fertilized the plants. I’m a bit anxious about giving the plants a fertilizer overdose, so I might be giving them less than they need.

Those look like pests. Possibly thrips or leafminers. Maybe some more experienced growers will see and know.

Thrips/mites were my first thought.
