After two of our dogs and one of our cats passed in 2019 (Left us with one dog , one cat) I said the same thing. Now we have two dogs and three cats.

We do a lot of rescues
We usually doctor them and get them fixed.
Some stay with us others we find homes.

Our newest cats were rescue kittens. They would hide from us for the first 2-3 weeks. They slowly came around and now its a love fest. lol

Someone brought us one that looks like your dark grey one. Hes in bad shape. Shes was giving him subcutaneous fluid under his skin last night.
We will see if we can save him

My cat Bowser passed this morning at around 6-7 am, it’s been rough for my wife and I this morning. 11 years old.
Wife got up around 6 to make coffee and breakfast and feed the pets, Bowser was alive but in rough shape, slow movement, about 20 mins later she called the pets to eat and Bowser didn’t come, so she went to look for him, and he was deceased on the floor in the downstairs bathroom (the floor is cold there and the cats like the spot). I wrapped him up in a blanket and set him on the table for my wife to say her goodbyes and to have my 6 year old say goodbye.

Very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. They are family members.

Sorry to hear that man… My pet IS my child, they are family in my house. Its never easy to lose a loved one, but you know you gave your cat the best life possible. That helps to ease the pain.
