does anyone know what’s going on here?? i recently revegged a male paki and now the dude has pisitils, is this a reverse herm? i know that females can herm under stress but males too??
Colin from ethos would call that an Alpha Male. ![]()

But, yes thats a herm plants. Males can do it too. I would not make seeds with that plant. But, Im not colin from ethos seeds.
I have read where fem’s can herm during a reveg, some say to let it go and see if it continues in the newer growth. Then take clones…
If that’s a male you really want to save it’s worth a shot…
Yea…if you wanna make a bunch of seeds that herm easily.
I would pitch it.
That’s what I get for posting on a rush…
I should have explained fully that some report the clones from the herm may stop showing the intersex trait. Like I said, worth a shot?
If I am correct in my understanding (i’m no expert by any means), while the genetic trait may still be there, you could find a clean cut from it. Potentially making a clean cross or generation? This plant ran clean first time, and showed intersex from the stress of revegging it…
The clone may not show but it’s still in the genes
unfortunately
So I wouldn’t use he/she for breeding
I agree with what he said.
This is probably a stress herm from revegging. Not probably a herm from it being strong in the genes. Every plant can herm as im sure you know. A lot of the most potent plants can and do herm because they have such a strong desire to reproduce. Now if it hermed just randomly in flower id agree. But because they revegged this one, id keep and run it.
So the male plant had no issues during the flowering, dumped its load and i wanted to keep it but i had no room to clone it at the time so I just threw him into my veg tent (24hr).
If it is a herm im assuming its from the revegging and not from genetics, i had the females out side and my neighbors turn on their flood lights randomly and the plants come out with no issues, I plan on keeping it
Some will say that it’s no big deal.
Most here would advise against using any sort of pistillate male for breeding-stress related or not. Personally, I wouldn’t even consider using a male that shows lady parts.
They and them please.
Very true. It happens. I have lost an entire grow because of this. Bad seeds. It’s hard work and then everything gets seeded.
would it be bad? alot of well know strains come from accidental herm, and im sure most would herm under revegging especially coming from half way through flower
if i cross this male to a healthy female, the seeds may be questionble, but would I be able to breed out the herm trait?
Hermaphroditism in plants is a complex subject , it’s rare to have one that is 50/50 boy girl, it’s more of a 60/40 or even 90/10 and in males they often don’t show that smalll percentage if its there unless they are stressed or allowed to grow to completion , most people kill males as soon as they dump pollen but the hairs on herm males normally come much later for what ever reason.
I like to stress test the boys for a cycle before using them , run them to there absolutely done and see if any hairs shows.
Also sometimes the male or female parts can be very small making them easy to miss , plants can even herm in a way that only certain branches have the hairs or pollen sacks.
You really got to watch seed plants close and run them to completion to know they’re stable.
A little herm on both sides could equal a lot more down the line.
I just chucked a male with female traits from seed.

I’m watching one close myself, has hairs but also has some suspect parts , its to soon to tell but I check twice a day and avoid anything even slightly questionable
I pondered this question when i found a Sourbluetooth male that had one time that was an amazing specimen that threw a pistil here and there on the tips of a couple flower sites.Might have had maybe 8 total pistil hairs the whole plant showed up about 3 quarters to full flower he dumpd pollen like a machine the smell off of him drove me nutts was like 20 times stronger than any of the females and those smelled absolutely divine. Me and @Mithridate have had a couple discussions on this. The offspring that i have grown have oddly shown no intersex traits indoors and outdoors even with Stress manipulation i did all sorts of shit from watering with ice water to interrupting light scheduals simulation of light leaks use of strobe lights temp fluctuations fucked with rootball temp the full nine yards of fuckery not one of those plants Threw any extra parts they weren’t supposed to except i did find one male much later that did the same thing again maybe 8 to 12 pistil hairs on the tips of a couple buds. That was it.Females are 100 percent stable ive grown them out 8 times already.Seems to effect males out of maybe 15 percent im guessing.Havent bred with them out of being precautious but as a curiosity i popp them to use up the stock and be nosey. The smoke is pretty good
(AK47 2023 release)
They both belong to the same code, so they share problems too ^^
A bunch like to debate on sex of angels, for the same herm progeny big bump, let’s call them just herm that were waiting the right window to declare and propagate. Same apply with females with the same leverages, the reveg’ just helped to declare faster. Like any torture we invent to exterminate them before the weed become weak and muted ^^ Yeah it’s very relative thing today lol
Should we do a slow pitch or a fast pitch? ![]()
