I decided to start this thread as a result of a discussion i noticed in another thread. I would be interested in feedback about Intelligences from Mycelium to pets , and even our human brand of Intelligence. Does the progress of a Mycelium show intent? Are Ants more organized than people? And my favorite ponder, are animal evolutions being affected by humans , and to what degree? Some folks already involved @mota , @drgreensleeves and @Zolorp . I want to hear more please.
Yes it not only shows intent but purpose as well for instance if you inject a radioactive isotope it will encase it and breake it off/ lock it up to protect surrounding plants from damage it not only shiws intent but also decision making skills
I was told once humans were a Phenomenon because they were the highest intelligence on Earth. The example was that humans were special because dogs have never evolved to higher levels. After consideration , i figure being more intelligent is detrimental to domestic dogs kept by people. I think captivity dictates that they be " stunted" in thier development in order to maintain thier reliance on humans.
That depends on how we define intent. It survives, so if “intent” is defined broadly enough, sure, there’s intent there.
To my simple mind, since we all live on the same planet and breath the same air, yes. And because of our technology (going far back), likely more than the reverse.
But it does more than just “survive” much more
Certainly changed. Stunted is too subjective, imo.
This 100%. Much of this discussion will involve defining the terms to our satisfaction. Lets be patient until we outline our solid definition of the terms involved. Very important point.
Well but they learn and understand what im saying and have memory even have dreams they just dont speak our language, does that make them ignorant? Or less than? Or what about the octopus?
Does the fact that we feed and control them to a degree make us more intelligent? They sleep while we work, and then home to walk and feed them.
I don’t understand what you mean. What exactly is the “much more”? What is it that animals, including us, do that’s not to survive?
Then whos the pet? Lol really though if you drop a dog off it will survive feed itself granted it would be hard for it but if we dropped off a random person the dog would probly out live them
Well just surviving insinuates a reflex ive seen them make decisions go around poisons instead of through it to a food source
I think Mycelium has a particular interconnectedness that benefits more than just it. Why do people anonymously help others?
Yeah, that’s called surviving.
If you show a photo to water as it freezes, it “remebers” the image and shows ya. Is intelligent?
Love, and appreciation theres some of the much more you been looking for @mota mushies do this for same reasons
Yes , are smartphones smart. The perameters are far reaching.
But also shows deductive reasoning
What do mushrooms have to gain by producing hallucinogens?
