Have some ladies vegging too long.
Figured it’s time to get the tents setup, probably DWC in both tents to start. Everything finally arrived and time to start work.

Mixing 5 buckets for mother’s in one tent, no reservoir for this one. Flowering tents probably reservoirs and maybe sprayers. Letting the pH drift and will take cutting tomorrow They can root with my hoya, they seem to like that window.
Revenge of the clones. Let’s see if the homemade cloner still works. I remember the pens are a little narrow, have to get them out before too much growth below. Took them last night, will wait a few days before trimming the ladies bottoms and transplanting.
Ran out of likes but subbed for this. Nice start to a thread
Hopefully there will be something exciting in the near future. Thanks for following.
Holidays everything was packed away for company. Starting flowering tent (Lowe’s) today.
I might see little dots on the stems today. It will be a good comparison for cloner vs cup. Should be a few health ones to choose from. The clones never sagged in the cloner, the cups sagged for about 24 hours then perked up. I started with about 60 beans and these were the best based on; short bushy growth, requiring less nutes, thriving in lower humidity, now I can test cloning speeds.
Hope everyone is having a good new year
Trying for a SOG, might have to tie back or net.
Lowe’s is finished inside. Now to wait for the clones … tick tock tick tock
Update
Cups show no signs of rooting, cloner was is about three weeks but the window is cold and short light looks like some threw some pistols. Did some directly into the bubblers and 8 days, minor deficiencies but are looking better.
Added another 2000w and 10 buckets. Slowly getting everything together.
13 days now, good roots and starting to grow. Uped the nutes to 400ppm and lowered the light from the top of the tent. A few clones showing a little def but had nutes around 150ppm and the light might have been to bright even at the top of the tent. Might have to invest in a little cloning tent with soft light.
Found a few mites. I think they have been in the mothers for a while. I was growing them by windows this summer and friend gave me a pepper this summer, horrible plants for mites. Gonna give them a spray of neem oil and quarantine my tent. No webs but still don’t like the little fuckers.
Will probably move the clones from the cloner into buckets and finish up home Depot tent. Another few weeks and it’ll be switched to permanent 12/12. Then the fun begins.
Picked up some local seeds from a head shop. They have some from another local breeder that is going out of business with the new laws. Might have to grab a couple of those too before they’re gone.
Setup has taken a while but almost done
Finally got around to the mothers. This is my first DWC and I wanted to make sure the clones were working before risking my larger ones. I let the pots dry and lost some bottom growth. I though transplanting would be similar to soil to get the entire pot out in one piece and let it all dry out to get the soil out from between the roots.
While in the tub sprayed everyone down with neem. I feel like a greased up now.
The two from last night, they sagged a bit but I think mainly from the weight of the oil. Seem to be perky again today. Did the other 3 this morning and the oils got them down.
Soil free! I’m looking forward to less mess in the basement.
Canadian Tire and Lowe’s are compete, hopefully I can get around to more cleaning and have Home Depot ready tomorrow.
It took a a while but the cups have started to show roots, cloner is about 80% rooted and the bubblers have some great roots. One died in the cups, one in the cloner, about 95% success.
Bad news, I’d tired some local nutes (2 part) and was told just to mix 1/2 strength for hydro. Didn’t work … maybe I should have stuck with a hydro nutes with feeding chart. Went out and got some hydro 3 part and mixed my own for the little ones. Cut the lower leaves just to be sure not going to get worse. Almost have a good solution for my water.
Moved from cloner to buckets, cups to cloner. Some in dirt for outside or around the city.
Here’s some root porn.
Getting ready for spring and trying to get my numbers up.
24 hours soaking.
Lemony Lemon 5/6
Strawberry Cough 0/6
All seeds ended up breaking. So far 6/6 Lemony Lemon and 3/6 Strawberry Cough. Hoping for the other 3 to break the surface Probably take cutting of the babies into hydro, then take these outside for the summer. At least that’s my plan right now.
Not much to report, on my third hydro nutes. Last ones turned everything black and I prefer to see roots. Not sure if it’s my mountain water but third time seems to be a charm.
Finished my control room, probably going to change the tent names because the buckets end up everywhere, lol.
Probably update again when I go to flower some these ladies.
Hopefully soon, really prepping for summer and to get my numbers up right now🤞
BNC Diesel clones are short and tight, think I’ve finally dialled in my hydro. I thought I would get the nutes and it would be as easy as 1 2 3 … not that easy but once it’s dialed in they take off.
4.5 years is a long time …
It’s long enough to go from 1 to 6 to 30 of some plants.
In the same time a Neofineta Falcata can be reclassified to a Vanda. This is my favorite plant with it’s rich history and one of the first plants humans cultivated. Samurai used to carry them in their pockets. I’m going to flower it this year, self pollinate and try my hand at flashing again. I also just ordered another … I have a plant addiction.
Some plants grow fast and some grow slow, I have some much older than my children.
Patients is a virtue.
But you don’t want to see that … all my Hindu Kush popped and might get another couple packs tonight.
5/6 Strawberry Cough broke soil, one was too weak and two runts, might cull em.
4 Hindu Kush broke soil, the other 4 cracked the seeds. So far 20/20 cracked =)
Hydro is going well now, slow growth with the first two nutes; my own solution seems to be working with my water. Slight def in the larger plants to get used the the feeding schedule but everything seems to be moving now. Hydro still 2x - 3x faster than the clones I had in soil. Clones are still a little ugly and the 3 fingered Mataro Blue is one ugly momma but makes up for it in size.
Traded for a Bubba Kush and Strawberry Kush, maybe another trade in a few weeks.
Now in the stable:
Mataro Blue
BNC Diesel
G13 x Hash Plant
Cali Orange
Lemony Lemon
Strawberry Cough
Hindu Kush
Strawberry Kush
Bubba Kush
Also had my hand at pollinating, hoping for a seed pod with a self cross. If not then there should be some tubers for next year.
Then some organization this morning when cleaning the buckets, roots on one side, rooting on the other =)
I think I’ve built my numbers enough to have some ready for spring/summer; after I take clones from the seedlings for buckets indoors I’ll put the soil ones outside. Hopefully this will be a flowering tent soon and others for veg/mothers that can rotate through.
To note: the ones in cups are just starting to root, others taken much later (a week ago) are starting to root in the cloner. Cups will work but take at least a month longer than a cloner or buckets, even under the same lighting.
Well, 20/20 seeds cracked. 19/20 broke soil with a few runts. Hopefully some trades in the next week or so. Have to wait for the seedlings to mature before cloning into hydro and trades.
Starting some more classics. With my growing number of strains I gifted my mothers; that were then probably chopped to clones for a green house. Hopefully I can have a little green house for this summer as well but my space is getting limited =)
In the stable:
Looks like my pollination worked, I’ll have a few million seeds to play with my Ophrys and my new Vanada came sooner than expected =)
