Powdered citric acid at 1-2 teaspoons per quart of water will kill spider mites with one or two applications. It kills the adult mites and dries out the eggs. It can be used at any point in flower but can cause some burning of the pistils. Most of the commercial mite products approved for use in flower are citric acid based if you can find their ingredients. Hope you get through it with as little loss as possible.
Possibly, but Iâve not grown the appy crosses youâve listed. Between the SSDD, Appalachian Super Skunk, and Motherâs Milk specifically, I found quite a few plants all with the same or extremely similar highâs, only different flavors. Creamy plants to be found in all of them. I actually found it difficult to find plants that didnât have a chem leaning appalachia trait stamped all over them.

I have no idea what that means lol
It means Scotts paid someone off. Azamax is owned by Hawthorne Gardening, a shell company started by Scotts when they got busted for including that wonderful vitamin supplement, Rat Poison, in their birdseed.
They are also trying to scoop up everything related to weed growing, GH being their big one.
They are also the friendly folks who push their phosphates for the greenest lawn you ever did see, which when over zealously applied to have a lawn greener than your neighborâs, then get washed into the storm water system. Storm water goes into rivers, lakes, and the oceans with no treatment.
Fuck them!
@VAhomegrown do you know what kind of mites you have? Red or 2 spotted? Iâve taken care of both with a cold pressed neem extract from Home Depot. Itâs about 10 beans for a pint. The red mites were way easier to whack.
That fogger you have gets spray into every crevice.
The neem killed the eggs of the red mites, but not the 2 spotted. Those hatch out every 3-5 days, so a spray regime of 3x in 10 days worked for me.
All that being said, I used Azamax plenty before I paid attention , and smoked the harvests. I did wash the plants in H2O2, but who knows how well that worked⌠except Iâm not dead⌠yet
Citric Acid is one of the ingredients in the MTA âone-n-doneâ mix
Yea I have the red/rusty looking ones. I just ordered 2lbs of powdered citric acid that will be here tomorrow. Iâm going to do a few citric acid dunks over the next few days and hope I can get them after they hatch/before they lay more eggs. I just gave a buddy of mine the ones that were the most affected. He said âI donât give a fuck about spider mites, Iâll smoke it!â lol. He just left with 4. Def gonna try and save the rest if I can. I feel better now that I have a game plan, and having the big offenders out of the room.
lol I think weâve all probably smoked more than a few of them Fâers!
Snap crackle and pop lol
These just came in. All I need is a tank! The goal is to make the higher temps in summer usable so i dont have to keep the AC cranking so much.
Just cleaned out my truck and found this old jelly knife/spoon I picked up a few months ago at a flea market. Looks perfect for scraping bubble bags with. One side is raised like a spoon, the other is flat
Man I sure hope you are able to save the SSDD. Good luck brother sick spoon btw
Are you sulfur dipping to prevent PM, or something else? If itâs for pm, I donât think you need to do it every day. @JoeCrowe recommends 2x in two weeks, and that worked for me. \
And, how come youâre not using the fogger? I think itâs way more effective than dipping. Well, at least the way I dip⌠thereâs always little pockets of air bubbles blocking the bathwater. The fogger gets the stuff everywhere!
Not for PM, no. I use Regalia for PM prevention. Iâm doing sulfur dips to hopefully dissuade any spider mites from moving in, or killing any that might be there already. If I was just doing regular IPM Iâd use the fogger, but I have to operate under the suspicion that they are everywhere lol. Plus I donât want sulfur spray getting everywhere and stinking things up real bad. This way is a bit more controlled. I mixed some sulfur and water in a coffee mug, and cut a thin slit halfway through a small piece of cardboard just big enough for the stem to fit through to prevent most dirt from falling in the mug when the plant is inverted. Make sure all the leaves are submerged and let them sit for 3-5 seconds.
Sulfur also works for spider mites. Iâd do an insecticide soap dip also
Yea it repels AND kills! I cleaned out the mug after dipping and mixed a fresh batch, and stuck it in my mini greenhouse thing with the PTS seedings.
Iâm working on getting my space clear, since I got two spotted mites. Clean and slowly bring stuff back in. I canât stand the extra work bugs addđ
Outa So there you go
Dude it is such buzzkill having to deal with stupid bugs. Until now, this grow was going so well, then BAM right before harvest I get spider mites. Now I gotta do a bunch of shit I dont want to do, let my grow run for at least another week before I can cut them down, buy more shit⌠Hope that the weed will still be good⌠I nicknamed this grow âSpider-mite Daydreamâ lol. Thinking about using a pump sprayer to spray sulfur outside around my house now too. Include the outdoors in my IPM
Sulfur will end fungus, but itâs not going to extinct spider mites. Sulfur costs almost nothing compared to regalia. 15 cents sulfur I can end a mildew colony in a day.
